Hi AndrePooh,
Just saw this challenge. No chance to participate but I will look out for the next. Using a dummy is a great idea as an improvement over the earlier challenge. In the earlier challenge, I withdrew my photo when I realised it was stopping genuine participants from posting their second photo.
You should find a way of making the DQ button work. Then DQ those who submit only one (ie no dummy) or 2 different pictures. This should keep some order in the challenge.
Keep up the good work.
Andre
Do not be discouraged. This is a very imaginative use of the Challenge. Posters have immediate feedback on their pictures, re-do and re-post a new one based in the feedback. Wonderful learning opportunity.
AndrePooh: *** THIS CHALLENGE IS FULL -- DO NOT UPLOAD NEW PHOTOS ***
Participants who entered a first picture may upload a second improved version of their original picture.
New entries will be disqualified.
My apologies to all for my entry after this post. I actually thought the entry limit was 24. I have withdrawn my entry so that the proper participants can submit their second photo.
Like the water droplets on the flowers and how that fade into the background. Maybe the cropping is too tight. A little more background can give the eye some relief.
B&W works great with this. I like.
Like some have said, I don;t know what is going on.
I Like. The shadow from the hermit and the way the background seems to blend together.
Nice capture of the orchids. Background is a little distracting.
Too much foreground. Nicer if the sand was smooth/flatter in the background and blends into the sky.
Almost like a watercolor painting but it works great.
Nice photograph. Great composition. I prefer with a single flower though.
I want very much to like the photograph. Good composition, good subject, decent background. But something is missing. Could be brighter.
Flower angle full in face better. Perhaps tighter crop.
Great capture of a drifting leaf. I marvel at the technical skill and patience. But does not do anything for me artistically.
Nice. Like the position of the twig. If I am pressed for a suggestion, I can only think of seeing if there is some way to make the twig stand out from the background even more.
Too busy for me. My eyes did not stop at anything. The focal length, shutter speed & aperture combination is 'interesting'.
Like the colors. Green on lower left distracting.
