Pierre Louis: Great article! What I would LOVE to see compared is Premiere Pro on an M1 Mac vs Premiere Pro running on Windows 10 running on the same M1 Mac.

I've owned a few Macs but always installed Windows on them (resulting in some of the best PCs I've ever had). What can I say... I love the Windows 10 interface but can't stand Mac OSX. There's just too many strange quirks and little things missing in OSX for my taste.

How does Premiere perform when running on Windows 10 on an M1 Mac? That's what I'd like to know!

Does anyone have any insights? Thanks!

There is no bootcamp for M1 Mac. And using Parralels can suffer from performance penalty.

Oh my.. The M1 is really something special, an engineering marvel. Steve Jobs acquiring PA Semi is probably one of Apple's best decision ever.

Sony has been really lucky on hiring (poached from Nikon) their current GM lenses designer. I have seen him in a Sony YouTube video and he's incredibly passionate about photography.

Here's the video: https://youtu.be/okl5mwkZ_7s

I haven't seen such a low score in a DPR' camera review in a long time..

All the cons are seriously just nitpicking in DPR' part.. Honestly.

How come it's 460grams? What fairy dust did Sony use.

When can we see the A1 review? I always visit the site every day to read one.. 🙂

I read somewhere (correct me if I'm mistaken) that there are current 96 native E-mount lenses.. With the addition of these lenses, you now have almost hundred lenses to choose from making the E-mount, having the largest collection of lenses for mirrorless.

I'm curious if these lenses can resolve the 50mp of the A1 and 61mp of A7rIV.

Out of Topic: Hopefully, Nikon and Canon would open their mount like Sony does with E-mount. Choices are good for consumers and having an open ecosystem for lenses would enable more cheaper lenses for consumers.

peeyaj: It's a turbocharged A7SIII for videographers. The 400USD premium to A7SIII is worth it, imo.

@ Ran Ridley

"for videographers" (emphasis).. It's a much better camera for video than the A7SIII as it's a part of the cinema line and can record up to 13 hrs of 4k60p video with the same video features of A7SIII with better ergonomics and adaptability for video shooting.

peeyaj: Who would have thought that 8 years after the release of Sony A7 full frame camera, Sony has the lead up when it comes to lenses designed for mirrorless and outperforming Canon and Nikon in lens quality! Good job, Sony.

@itsmeavi

Really? Nice knowing. It's my first name spelled backwards 😁

One of the less discussed feature is the in-camera gyro-based stabilization that allows gimbal-like stabilization using Catalyst software in certain use cases.

DualSystemGuy: Here's hoping the A7IV gets some of those AF goodies for those of us who don't have $6500 lying around.

From the rumors, it will get all the ergonomic and UI improvements of A7SIII with a new 30mp sensor that does 4k60p..

Speaking of A7SIII, may I ask if you plan to release a review? Thanks.

peeyaj: Question: For still photographers, how huge is the electronic shutter with flash? Is it game changing or a must have feature?

@MikeRan

This camera will probably a prelude to the release of a global shutter sensor in an alpha body. Sony has released global shutter sensors but for industrial use.
