Desertdad: I just bought this camera, and it is really nice, except for one thing... Once I set the controls to what I want and turn it off and back on. It reverts to its old settings. How do I keep, or lock in my settings so they stay?

I don't even know how old was your question written. Have you bought used your camera? If it can't hold its memory, there is problem with its internal battery but on the other hand you say that you don't put out the principal battery but only you close the camera with the battery inside. Strange.

ms18: I'll choose RP. Because

It support two amazing lenses
i) 35mm f/1.8 macro prime
2) 85mm f/2 macro prime.

And also it's lightweight.

Only downside is Dynamic range. I hope Canon will release another lightweight cheaper model replacing RP. with good dynamic range and autofocus in coming time

You want a camera for taking food photos from your travels? Have you tried your smartphone? I am sincerely curious and asking.
