Great capture and congrats on winning the contest.
Nice article! Good technique.
Gorgeous capture! As a boy I use to collect praying mantis. Love this shot. Congrats!
Gorgeous capture!
Lenscap67: Just putting it out there, But do you think there is a complete lack of Lens Profiles for Panasonic Lumix Lenses in Lightroom...
My understanding is at least for M43 lenses profiles are built into Lightroom via an agreement with Adobe. So things like lens distortion are fixed automatically. That is why you don't see anything from Panasonic. I'm happy they do that.
Win! Ban those damn drones away from ALL the National Parks. Sorry, I'm a tech guy but that is the LAST thing we need. If you open that door you'll constantly here the sounds of engines in the parks and a lot of spoiled shots.
A good first step.

To the staff at DPREVIEW I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the hard work. Meeting the expectations of this crowd is no joke. Despite the intensity of the debate about camera ratings and so many other things you maintain your class and dignity. I believe it was President Nixon and his term the "Silent Majority" who although you don't hear from them, they approve of your work efforts. Well done and I look forward with excitement to 2014 and what this fantastic site brings!
I'm at Ramstein Air for base in Germany. We have a mall and the guy that got me started was in (Chris has been shooting since the 60's) and he had the GX7. He let me handle this...gem. Fast AF, sharp, terric feel, ergonomically superb. Of course this is all personal but I can sum it up for you in one word...winner! I love the reviews on DP review but don't forget we all draw our own conclusions. You are upset it didn't get gold? Buy it and go out and take some award winning pics! The possibilites with this class of cameras (including the GH3 I received yesterday, the EM-1, EM-5, Sony A7/A7R are only limited by the photographer! People didn't like the GH2 (bad stills, just good for video) I have 9 IPA's HM's and 3 Spider Awards that beg to differ! Camera's are great but it comes down to the photographer. Love the GX7 and will (when money and Mama allow) get it.
I love Lightroom. I really do but this is something bigger. Everyone needs to realize Microsoft, Apple, Google and other huge corporations are watching this with interest. If Adobe "succeeds" what will stop Microsoft, or Apple from doing the same with the OS? Nothing. So if you want your digital life I suggest you send Adobe a message and from what I'm reading you are. I have no problem with a company trying to make money but after weighing the pros and cons I believe the end user is the big loser. I will continue to use Lightroom but now I 'm now forced to consider my options. I hope Adobe is listening.
Thanks for the kind comments!
Kitamura: Can't wait to get out there and start shooting. My biggest limitation is time. With a full-time job, wife, kids and dog the time just flies past. I'm sure most non-professional photographers will agree.
Amen! We have 3 children and although 2 are out the house trying to keep everyone happy and not neglect them while trying to get my business going is damn near impossilbe. Very frustrating sometimes for me and my wife I would suppose! Oh well!
Great capture!
