Gimli son of Gloin: Nope, nothing these two gentlemen have to say will ever be worth 8 minutes of my time.

Good day Sir.

I guess his hair now counts as an extra person? Maybe it reached peaked mass.

Pat Cullinan Jr: Smudging of details even at ISO 80. Right?

Is it worth ≈$400?

It is if you need the range. This kind of camera is not made with IQ as top priority, convenience and general features are more important.

TonyPM: When can I get an A9 for 1000€ with a kit lens?

Wait until the A9mkIV. It should take 5 to 6 months.

TyphoonTW: Holy cow, no stuff regarding migrants? Finally!

It's always nice to express happiness regarding the variety of subjects in photography prizes, only to be given a lesson in politically correct morality. Thanks, now I'm clearly a better person. Clearly.

My:"Finally" implied the fact that for years many award-winning photos looked like copy/paste of the same refugee images over, and over, and over again. Last year (or was it 2015?) for landscape images of the year there was a snapshot of lifevest apparently being left somewhere in Greece to show:"the impact of migrants on nature" or something like that. Seing different images winning important prizes feels like some fresh air.

KubeKube: Considering the quality and class of this camera 85% score is a complete failure on the part of those who tested and evaluated it. A99 II is definitely 90+ camera if applying fairly DPR criteria.

I'll pretend to own one and say it deserves an 84%

No worries, Key Mission will keep the boat afloat.

Hinder: Kickstarter, where people want someone else to pay for their mistakes.

Which is exactly what a pre-order is (apart from the difference that pre-ordered goods usually exist or are in the process of being finished, while kickstarter doesn't even guarantee that)

Again, Kickstarter is not an investment. To invest is to allocate money (or sometimes another resource, such as time) in the expectation of some benefit in the future. With Kickstarter you simply pre-purchase a product.

Investment= I put money into a project expecting to get some extra money from it, Kickstarter = I buy in advance a product that doesn't exist yet hoping it will meet/exceed my expectations. Lily drone is a prime example.

That doesn't look bad at all for a non-L lens. At less than half the price of the 70-300 L it's a very good price/perfomance.

I always expect these:"Hands on" articles for third party lenses to be:"We tried the lens on the camera body X but apparently it needs an update and it exploded". It happens all the time.

Donna Dee: I totally understand what you are trying to do here. Nothing racist or xenophobic. You are looking for a traditional male. Maybe another time you'll want to do transgender males, or maybe not. It's your choice. Putting up a challenge for a specific look isn't any more racist than asking for pictures of red roses as opposed to pink ones. I don't know why everyone has to turn this into a "thing"!

It's called "virtue signaling". Even when no actual racism or xenophobia are involved, if such themes are ever so slightly mentioned in a topic it's important (for many people) to signal the fact that they're not racist or homophobics.

From now on, mentioning "Nikon DL" will generate PTSD flashbacks based on these pictures.

Slouch Hooligan: When I hold my Leica I feel a certain sense of superiority I just can't get from any other, less expensive, cameras. Knowing that this premium photographic artifact does less than other cameras, and thus requires more from me, to get the same shot, while taking longer to do it, produces a sense of elitist glee in my psyche that other camera manufacturers, with all their huge R&D budgets, have never been able to duplicate. Plus knowing that the rangefinder mechanism dates from another era allows me to feel a kinship with those ancient anonymous artists who left their images on the cave walls.
Your Welcome!
