  • I read somewhere that their firmware does not automatically correct for lens issues even for their own kit lenses, as most modern cameras now do. A huge issue for me as I prefer to just shoot OOC...

  • Exceptional shot, sir!  Love it.
  • Sorry for the long delay in responding. I just saw this. Yes. The compact size, retractable lens, and light weight are great.
  • Sorry, I have no idea. Hopefully, someone else will.
  • In my opinion, nothing, except for the compact size and light weight. Still they are a lot of fun and easy to carry around. No match for the M IQ, however. But amazing what you can get out of ...
  • Great blog and very nice images!  Truly excellent. Like you, I got mine after the prices dropped and was very surprised at the IQ and the intriguingly different look the images have. Plus I love ...
  • Still love my DP2s -- compact, light, fun and easy to shoot with. Many quirks and issues, like no VF, etc, but overall I get lots of good shots with it and love the "original" Foveon look to the ...
  • Congratulations! They are getting hard to find. I love my DP2s and have yet to be able to find a DP2x at a reasonable price. Also have the DP1x which I also love. So compact, fun, and easy to ...
  • From Sigma US Web site FAQ: "Occasionally small particles from the shutter mechanism will flake off and adhere to the image sensor. If these particles are big enough to be visible in your images, ...
  • Love my DP1x - so compact, fun and easy to shoot with, great results. As mentioned above, sometimes WB can be tricky, but overall I get great images - and again, so small and compact!  And yes, ...
  • There have been many more reports of dust problems than usual for both models, in my opinion. Don't think people here want to admit it's a problem. May not be. But many people seem to have the ...
  • Replied in DP1x
The IQ thing is mixed (pros and cons well covered her many  times) and the others have covered it, but one thing I really like about my DP1x (I have used DP2 M and DP2 Q as well) is the small size ...
  • It is indeed a wonderful little camera. So compact and fun to use. I love mine. Have gotten many great shots with it.  If they made one with the new sensor, I'd buy it in a second.
  • Beautiful!  My best Foveon images have been with the DP2Q (so far). It's a lovely camera. I use OOC JPEGS quite often. Gorgeous detail on the flower shots.
  • Very nice shots. I love my DP1x and my Dp2s. So compact and handy. I wish they'd put out a similar model with the new sensor. I'd buy one in a second.
  • Replied in LVF-01 - Wow!
Second this!  I just got one, myself.  I held off for a long time because of the high price. It works very well and makes a huge difference out in the bright sun. Good quality all around.
  • That's exactly what drew me to using Sigma's- I shoot mostly landscapes and they are exceptional in that arena.
  • Ah, now that's very encouraging!  That speaks directly to my concern as to whether this would be an on-going issue.  Thanks very much for taking the time to respond. This is good news, for sure. I ...
  • Thanks, Mike. My concern was more as to whether this might indicate some problem with the shutter design and lead to other issues down the road. It's just unusual, in my experience, to see so many ...
  • Thanks. I would rarely shoot over F8-F11, I don't think, so that's good to know. I agree about the cameras and am quite willing to put up with some things or I would not have used several over the ...
