About me:

A saucy grandmother who'd much rather wrestle a Cessna Caravan down to the runway in a stiff crosswind, discuss socioeconomic demographics related to housing, gentrification, or photograph clients in beautiful ball gowns, heels, hats, and premium hosiery... than bake a cake, entertain toddlers, or coo in the face of infants.

You can find me primarily shooting in the greater California Bay Area, California's San Joaquin Valley, Indiana, and along Florida's Gulf Coast where I seem to spend a lot of time lately; even summers (Oh the humidity!).

  • Stop using using words such as "bullied" when in fact you weren't even close to being remotely bullied. You're reminding me of too many university students who need a safe-space to protect them ...
  • Which has absolutely nothing to do with my question. Which is what you would want the salesperson to do about it within 5 minutes. Most salespersons at most camera stores can't realistically ...
  • How 'bout answering the question... which is basically what would you expect a salesperson to do for you over the course of about 5 minutes over the telephone. Obviously the question wasn't ...
  • Where were you pointing your camera?  Were you being a nuisance to others?  I'm not used to street/cable car operators having issues with cameras in the city. Mall "rules" can be enforced by anyone ...
  • I agree.  Some of the benefits of MF has nothing to do with image quality as opposed to making getting the image, easier.   Most who need what MF has to offer, already know the benefits of ...
  • :) Correct. The 50mp MF CMOS is a strong difference going from, say, a Canon 5d2 or 5d3 or comparable Nikon, etc..  but not the same vast difference in contrast to today's premium high pixel count ...
  • Actually the best professional MUA and stylists we've ever seen have been men.. not even a contest. Additionally, the best makeup retoucher I've ever seen is also a male photographer who does his ...
  • I had a few sessions where girls would come in with fresh (and hardened) cheap nail polish and cheap make up. The result of these products had me reeling ( I'm being nice). Processing files was a ...
  • Only you know that answer depending on what YOU should and WHY you're shooting it. If you're shoots are $1,875 per session and you're shooting outdoor action portraiture (e.g. beach gymnastics, ...
  • Might? Good answer considering current 44x33 MF offerings.
  • Since glamour/bridal/fashion photography is a mainstay in professional photography, this is exactly the place to view and or discuss such photos in the context of how s/he might be using a ...
  • Have been doing so for the better part of a decade. I'd say you're on the right track as it can be far more lucrative than weddings but you have to have an angle , you can't just offer what ...
  • Agreed Who is Adobe "competing" with?  What I mean by that is that I think Adobe's pricing simply reflects bean counters figuring out how to eek the most profits from a market that is often in flux. ...
  • Never.  I like the option of being able to reprocess raw files if I so choose, especially years later for certain files as software/processing tools get better.
  • Canon 5d3 colours are fine.   It's all about your camera settings, post processing and shooting raw to give yourself the most latitude in post. End of story.  That's it.  You just have to find your ...
  • Sure, I'd like to pay one price for several Photoshop Suites and get daily use out of them.  Frankly that's one of the dumbest business model for businesses with a stellar product that makes helps ...
  • Replied in Photo-snob
Which we all know is absolutely ridiculous as more people see cell phone photos than they ever saw amateur/casual film photos. Which is irrelevant. Said as an absolute, this statement is false ...
  • Of course, just like any business decision that a population rejects. Who pays more for Adobe products though, those who don't mind a subscription or those who balk at paying for a subscription? ...
  • Congratulations; best of luck to you in your new venture. Ok, that's reasonable. No one cares where you get your equipment from; whether you rent, borrow, or own- no one cares because it doesn't ...
  • Subscribers are to blame ( blame isn't quiet the right word; subscribers are the demographic that gave the 'go ahead' for the current subscription model). No, not like Brexit. That depends on what ...
