I agree with all of this. foveon is often too sharp and sometimes too saturated. and certainly by default in spp. i bought a dp1 merrill and couldnt use it for said reasons. i ended up settling on ...

on a merrill camera it does. with quattro files you get another slider called detail that you can move to smooth rendition that seems to do the trick of not over sharpening (for the most part)
