Nice amount of ports but pretty sh!tty keyboard layout.

I miss times when ThinkPad keyboards ruled the world:
https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/migr-73183

... and also in laptops - last ThinkPad laptops with such layout are:
- X220 (2011)
- T420 (2011)
- T420s (2011)
- T520 (2011)
- W520 (2011)
- 25 Anniversary Edition (2017)

vermaden: I REALLY liked in all other SONY a6xxx and a5xxx bodies the built-in flash that could be used as bounce flash. It was more then enough for most situations.

The TOP MODEL a6600 does not have it.

A true no-go for me.

As this system sacrifices ergonomics for size removing this built-in flash is REALLY BAD MOVE. Now anyone needs to attach an external flash which is WAY TOO LARGE for most purposes.

@rogerjp

I just hold the flash pointed 90 degress directly into ceiling (or wall when shooting vertically).

You can as well get a stick for ISO shoe to hold it for you:

... or even get a 'warm' filter also mounted on ISO shoe:

Taking a picture looks like that - but with builtin flash instead:

Hope that helps.

What about Panasonic CM1 with 1" sensor? It was best camera in a smartphone ever.

Indoors it really does its job. Its useless in large tall halls but in typical indoor apartments/flats where the height is about 2.5-3.0 meters its more then enough.

I also use it for vertical photos where flash if bounced of the left or right wall - great way to get other/alternative lightning.

The bounce flash also gets images better, you get ISO 1600 instead of 4000 for example.

You are talking about DIRECT flash while I am talking about BOUNCE flash where you shoot the flash in the ceiling.

That was (BOUNCE) you will not get any shadows because lens is 'too large'.

You forgot about a5100 which even today is still a worthy camera. It lacks EVF but has touch screen with touch-to-focus-to-photo mode. Generally its smaller a6000 without EVF but with touch screen and allows to do selfies as a6400 with its screen.

... and its really cheap - about $200 for body for used ones.

Sony a68 ... and probably cheaper at the same time with more features and ultra fast autofocus ... and Eye AF as well.

Best pocketable enthusiast camera on the cheap? RX100III (slower autofocus and no 4K).

Best pocketable enthusiast camera? RX100VA (which basically means RX100III WITH fast autofocus and 4K).

1.8-2.8/24-70 is just a lot better then slow/dark 24-200.

I can surely 'invent' a system for phone that does not change CPU frequency based on battery capacity ...

vermaden: If You need good professional laptop/mobile workstation, then these are all time good choices:
- IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T/W/X series.
- Dell Latitude/Precision series.
- Apple Macbook//Pro/Air series.

> Why is MacBook Pro on that list?

Because Mac OS X just works and is stable as rock, its even certified UNIX03 system. Of course You can install 'hackintosh/osx86' on ThinkPad or Dell, but You must carefully select hardware so it will be supported properly and 'never update' as You will break your 'hackintosh/osx86'.

You can of course install FreeBSD or Linux o Macbooks if You wish, same for ThinkPad and Dell.
