The camara can do left/right eye select when it's on a target and you can assign that to a button. Not sure if the joystick is one of those buttons. Along with the other suggestions in the thread I ...

Why does Sony name it APS-C (M)? I think that is adding to the confusion between Medium Raw? They should of just said APS-C mode? Did they name it APS-C (M) on the other models?

Even with the lack of these things the A1 is still superior to other camera's in the same category. It's unmatched in terms of locking on for moving subjects and that's what it's essential purpose ...

I bought a card reader but didn't notice an increase in speed from transferring to my laptop directly from the camera.
-
My plan is to get one of these after the price comes down further, perhaps after the introduction of the A1(2) or A9III. The camera checks all the boxes for a fast action camera and whatever ...
-
In response to OP's question. Yes...I think there is a marked improvement with the Sony "color science", color interpretation...whatever you want to call it starting with the A1. The A7IV and the ...

I think they mean that the AI can extrapolate where the eyes are at/going to be based on how the head is positioned.
-
Is the frequency detection automatic? I have wondered about this.

Not sure it's a fair comparison of the R6 to the A7C. The newer A7IV should be a better comparison. However, the A7RIII was pretty good at eye tracking, and I think the 7C should be as good or better.
-
I would say that the RV AF is better than the RIV, outside of the AI chip. Sony has improved the AF on their camera in the years since the RIV came out and I would say that the RV is at least on ...
-
Since the A7IV has touch to shoot AND touch focus you have it set to the former right now and not the latter. You have to cycle through the different focus methods by touching the icon in the upper ...
-
If we insist on using two letters RV is what should be used, I agree. If you were in the market for this camera you have to know that Canon has an R5. Just for the sake of distinction RV makes more ...

Oh. I read that wrong. However, OP said most of his pictures are at the 70-75 range. Generally too, that's probably a better lens for what he's wanting to do. If not the Tamron 28-75 might fit. I ...
-
The Tamron 70-180 F2.8 is not an option? You said you don't need wider than 70. They don't get much faster than that and if used at the max aperture will give you that subject separation you might ...

Seems to be a little improvement over the RIII, at least in the lower iso's, for those that are making the jump from the RIII to RV.
-
I do understand. That's why people usually quantify with 'equivalent'. I'm not going to rehash this whole argument that happens every. single. time someone does something like this. For the ...
-
If that's the case, he/she must just want to record video. You have to press the button to acquire focus but as long as a face is in the frame, and there's enough depth of field the camera will ...

The Imagining Edge app allows you to do camera functions through the app. Perhaps you can enable tracking via the app away from the camera and then not have to touch it.
-
The 600mm*1.4*1.5 =1260mm is correct though. The camera is in APS-C mode.

Pretty great shots, more so if they are handheld.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
