I found that with the current DLRs from Nikon, there is a little need for shooting RAW, all is necessary is to set-up your jpg in-camera conversion right..I know that many of you might call this a heresy, but I think RAW is great to find the bestt setting for the camera then..just shoot jpg...

kaktlak: This is a really interesting camera, but pictures are really, really mushy for an enthusiast compact (especially for one with such a big sensor).
I hope it will improve before entering market.

right you are, the "problem" lies with the focal length 10.9mm and the aperture of 5.6, the image would have better appeal with longer focal length as to separate more the main subject from the background, or to use different aperture value like 11 or 16 to get larger DOF, of course this is just my opinion...

In reply to:

Rob Sims: Can anyone explain what happens to the equivalent aperture when you stick on an Ultra Wide converter? Does the 28/2.0 just become a 21/2.0?

actually I got is reverse, 28mm lens has 14mm "opening", 28mm/14mm =2.0, so if the converter makes a lens of f=21mm then 21mm/14mm = 1.5

lens opening stays the same, F equals opening/f, so 28/2.0 lens with 1/1.7 converter will have F = 2.0/1.7 = ?
