I was curious to know the photo size produced by the “Instax Wide” camera. Why in the world did you leave this out of your description???? Isn’t this a most key detail??

Howard: I see that as usual, most commenters miss the point. Pete Sousa has every right to his opinion. People can debate endlessly about pros and cons of presidents but are we really in favor of this taking place on this site?? Sure the owners of this site are free to do anything they want but this viewer is very disappointed with blatant politics appearing here!

Barney- Do what you want

Howard: Regarding this story- yes it has some relation to photography BUT IT DOES NOT BELONG ON THIS SITE! The bottom line is that it is a political statement and I am VERY disappointed that you have chosen to post it. (Of course anti-Trumpers will approve of it).

Gannon- He admits that he has not photographed Trump except on inauguration, so he is not “discussing with us the prestigious photography job he held under two very different presidents”! He is just using dpreview to make a political statement and dpreview obviously is anti-Trump. I say this doesn’t belong here!

Don’t believe for a minute that this photographer is not political!

yoms: As a travel 'photographer', I really wished it had a built-in GPS, even at the expense of a lesser battery life (I can buy 1-2 extra battery if I need to).

No U1, U2, U3? Or am I missing it?

Still hoping for a 5D Mark V...

I find the built in gps so useful when traveling with my 5d4 that I can’t consider another camera without it. I believe that most people don’t understand that each photo has the coordinates of the location it was taken at imbedded in the exif data. Then on a computer or tablet it can be seen precisely where the photo was taken on a map. The workaround without it are too cumbersome. This is a deal-breaker for me.

Howard: Is it really true that R5 does not have built in GPS?? This has been one of the most useful features of my 5D4 for travel. I was ready to buy R5 until I read this. It is a deal-breaker for me. WHY DID YOU DO THIS CANON???

Very very inconvenient to depend on your phone. A major shortcoming of R series!

You don’t understand what built in GPS does. It embeds coordinates of where the picture was taken in the exif data. Then when you’re reviewing photos in a computer or tablet you can see on a map precisely where photo was taken.

The before/after examples are hardly different from each other. Not a compelling demonstration of the capabilities of this software.

What a shame! Old SE’s popularity was due to it’s pocketable size. Doesn’t anyone at Apple know this?! I won’t be “upgrading”!

This is simply useless click bait just like so much else today. It shouldn’t be on this site!

Very interesting project nicely presented showing effort needed to make even a very low res digital camera. Too bad you have to endure so many stupid comments. Unfortunately that’s the state of our society today- an abundance of dumb people.

Light Pilgrim: What I can never understand is why such a premium monitor is made of plastic that outgases and with such thick bazels still in 2019? I am never going to purchase a product like this. Why not glass, aluminum and no bazels?

Outgassing? Is that really your concern? Then stop using any electronic devices that contain plastics which would be everything!
