The vast majority of CFExpress cards on the market will drop well below 400MB/s during sustained writes.

My recommendation to anybody considering this is to just buy a 98Wh V-mount battery with D-Tap and USB ports like the Came-TV Mini99 and just screw a smallrig quick release tripod plate to it.

@Horshack I don’t know how to reconcile the USB 3.2 requirement claim with Apples USB 3.1 specification and offering. Any ideas? Either specification can provide 5gbps or 10gbps, so I’m not sure....

The Crucial X8 only has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10gbps) port that isn't capable of delivering much higher https://www.crucial.com/ssd/x8/ct2000x8ssd9

@Horshack that's true, in so much as it's possible to offer this support. When you connect a non TB3/4 compliant device, it ends up on what is listed as a USB 3.1 Host Controller (there are 3 TB4...

@QuietOC there is no Sabrent USB4 enclosure that I’ve been able to find. They sell USB 3.2 Gen 1 10gbps enclosure and Thunderbolt 3 enclosures. No USB4/Thunderbolt 4.

@Horshack I’ve just connected it again and it says USB 3.1 Gen 2. This means single lane as USB 3.1 does not support dual lane. The author of the original article used a Sabrent NvME enclosure,...

Generally speaking, the conclusion should not be that Apple doesn't fully support USB 3.1 Gen 2 or USB 3.2 Gen 2 (these are the exact same protocols). Rather, they have bugs which need to be fixed...

There seems to be a genuine issue with how the M1 series negotiates the USB speeds with various devices. However, this article has some issues with both the methodology, the documentation, and the...

Also, the author of the article is confused about USB 3.2. He never indicates he is using a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 device, only that a USB 3.2 device achieves 10gbps connection and speeds. USB 3.2 does...

What’s more interesting to me is this is not a universal truth. I did some tests recently, and found that my Delkin CFExpress reader was operating above USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. The original reason I...

I’m not familiar with how this software works, but is it possible to slice by color channel? It is possible that due to chromatic aberrations one channel is in focus while the other color channels ...

Good think there is a control dial on the lens for people who find moving their thumb 0.5cm to be a hassle. Or you can configure the M-fn button to do what you want.

I leave the baffles in place on my parapops. Don’t know why yours cannot be left in place.

Yes. They are becoming luxury goods. Think mechanical watches, Leicas, expensive handbags. That's not too far off from where cameras are headed. Volume keeps going down so to maintain operations...

Thank you so much for following through with Canon. You will likely make things better for everyone.

The fact that Canon included the Cinema EOS firmware in this camera is pretty gamechanging. Sony wouldn’t even put their cinema features in to the FX3. Specifically, things like Face Only AF...
