Wow, ACR 8.4 was just released today in Lightroom 5.4 and Photoshop CC.

The color rendition is almost perfect on my 1600 ISO RAFs with PROVIA when matched against JPEGs produced (also PROVIA) from the in-camera engine.

In my opinion the color matching between JPEGs and RAF+Profile applied is hugely improved on since the release candidate. FANTASTIC. Best color rendition so far of X-Trans RAF files!

Just chiming in that in order to get really nice colors in a Lightroom RAW workflow (similar to what you get in Apple's Aperture), you should make your own X100S DNG camera profile.

If you don't have access to a color checker chart you can download my X100S camera profile and see if it makes any difference: http://fredrikaverpil.tumblr.com/post/53053979867

When opening the provided RAF files (above) in Fujifilm's RAW file converter, saving to 16-bit TIF and opening up in Lightroom, they look awesome and pretty much like the JPEGs above.

Fujifilm's RAW file converter:

Converted 16-bit TIF files:

It would make sense for Fuji to help automate this process regarding the circumstances... – either by supporting commandline batch operations with the RAW converter or creating an ACR plug-in.
