seahawk: So dated compared to the Z line. DSLRs are dinosaurs.

Once you have gone to mirrorless the DSLR’s do seem dated now especially the small coverage of the autofocus sensors.

Aesthetic Voyager: Why is D780 + 24-120mm is more expensive than D850 + 24-120mm on Amazon India?
Even body only too!

I don’t know why but if you are shopping for a new Nikon get the 850 it’s still pretty much the gold standard for DSLR’s without paying $6500.

Fotoni: I would always take 1/4000 instead 1/8000, if it removes shutter shock with rather slow shutter speeds. Camera brands could at least offer a way to tell the camera when to use mechanical and when to use electronic. Sometimes you might forget to change it and end up with more blur than what your lens can do. Quite pointless to have a good lens with all this shock crap what is happening.

What happened to the on-sensor PDAF banding? Nikon impleted a silent digital interpolation to cover them?

Yep to be getting shutter shock is completely unacceptable.

So Dpreview are you going revise the review again for these cameras with this firmware update. Also can you specify what a firmware has to change on a camera for it to qualify for the cameras review to be revised. I’m just wonder so I can understand why the Canon R didn’t get a revised review with its 1.4 firmware update that improved autofocus but the Nikon Z6 and Z7 did with their firmware update for autofocus. Thanks for your reply in advance.

K E Hoffman: This brings back fond memories of my youth in the early Micro-computer industry.

When someone was behind and losing sales to another software company, announce version 2! So your current users didn't leave, because you needed them for your upgrade sales revenue models.

"Way better than version 1.5 we just released, that took 2 years.
"Way better than the competitor's current version. That is already pushing the CPU"
"Coming soon! Here's a T-shirt to make it real."

Many of the T-shirts wore out before "Version 2" ever shipped. If it did.
It was called Vaporware! It was an announcement meant to stop the bleeding of customers, while you figured out how to do 32 bit programs on 16 bit CPUS and how to load data twice as fast as current HDs could do it. To match your press release.

No date, no price
No Camera... in 2020 is my guess.
And maybe some spec changes on the final?

If you don’t think this camera is being released you are honestly just an idiot.

Kevin DiOssi: I don't want to be too critical of this video because that's clearly a job that has been taken care of by others...but it would have been nice to demonstrate the eye detect AF versus the previous firmware with several portrait lenses at shallow depth of field. A portrait scenario is much different than what you've shown here, and that's where this feature is most important.

Absolutely, to be honest the test they performed is not really relevant for a standard portrait shoot in which the eye af would be used and it certainly doesn’t show the full benefits of the firmware upgrade. I love these guys and watch their videos but they have really dropped the ball here in portraying the huge progress Canon has made with their eye af and getting a bit sick of the Canon bashing. How about they start doing detailed reviews on the Canon RF glass and compare it to the competition then tell us how how far behind Canon is with innovation in photography because lately you would think that you only need a camera body without a lens to take pictures.

Serjojeee: I like the bokeh quality of this lens, looks creamy in a modern way. Good job Nikon!

The bokeh does look very good for a 1.8 and the lens looks super sharp. For the quality the lens seems to be producing I think the price is reasonable to. I’m a Canon user but I think Nikon has delivered a great all round package in this lens, bravo!

This when it becomes available in the RF mount combined with the Canon 50mm 1.2 and 85mm 1.2 and you then have the true Holy Trinity. Show me the light Holy Trinity!

Really!? I think you need a time out from posting on the forums because when you get to a stage when you are just posting nonsense it’s time to take a break and reassess a few things in your life.

I wish you well on your journey to good mental health.

In Australia the 50mm 1.4 is $3500!

In reply to:

worldaccordingtojim: I think Sigma would be smarter to concentrate on Sony FE mount lenses and not L mount or making a FF camera. There is a huge demand for quality Sony glass, a 70-200 2.8 FE would have sold like crazy. Is there even a demand for a Sigma FF camera, seems like a huge waste of R&D.

If you only read photography forums on the internet I would understand why people think Sony lenses would out sell anything else. But as Sigmas business model shows it’s the quiet majority of Canon and Nikon photographers (Not gear heads) that make up the bulk of their market.

Triplet Perar: I still cannot get over the bad design choice of this camera. (I mean, not that design consciousness is strong in Canon). Day after, and now is even worse than yesterday. One cannot socialise with this around the neck, looks like a huge bug, or, with that scaringly looking flash raised up, like a bat or a flying fox, especially when that LCD is flipped over. Brrr ...

What the hell are you on?
