I think people need to accept that the word "zoom" has broadened its meaning, in the way language tends to. A zoom *lens* is still a continuously variable focal length lens, and 3 primes do not...

It's not a "zoom lens", but it doesn't say that. I accept it's not strictly true to say it has a "3x optical zoom" capability, but the physical lenses and software combine to provide functionality...
