On article All about that lens: Sony Cyber-shot RX10 III review (480 comments in total)

I have had the RX10iii for some weeks now. I upgraded from the first RX10. I have many cameras (DSLR with many lenses, Leica Q, RX100iii ......), but I must say that I have come to really like the RX10iii. The lens covers both wide angle and rather extreme telephoto in the same compact package. Flexibility is fantastic with this camera, picture quality is excellent (though of course not at the same level as the Q).
I never came to like the original RX10 so much. The reason was that I got more or less the same with higher picture quality by bringing my Canon 5D mk2 with 70-200. But being able to go to "600 mm" is something completely different.

ARB1: So, will Sony now upgrade their RX1r to include an EVF in addition to many other items then put it on the street for $1,000 less

I really like my RX1. It takes fantastic pictures. I have the RX1 EVF. It is good, but it makes the camera vulnerable and bulky. I will get the Leica Q. I will keep on using my Canon 5D mk2 when I need longer or shorter focal lengts.

I have only one thing to say about this camera: It is a masterpiece.
I have a 5Dmkii with lots of lenses, I have micro four thirds cameras, I have APS-C..... But the skarpness of the pictures from this camera is fantastic. Expensive? Here you get what you pay for - at least.

wjam baltesen: hello folks,

I'm considering of buying a Sony NEX 5N.
Is it worth buying a body (and not the kitzoom 18-55) and buying another zoomlens, only regarding quality? What zoomlenses are there anyway available at this moment for this Sony? (DP speaks about a Tamron) Are they significantly better than the kitzoom?

The NEX 5N is on the same level as my EOS 5D Mk2 when it comes to low light performance. With the kit zoom lens it is a reasonably compact travel camera, but be aware that this lens is far away from having "L" quality. To me it does not have any meaning to bring a physically big zoom lens with a camera this size.
I love the tiltable screen.
