You're welcome. Calculating depth of field for the GR IIIx with or without teleconverter - or any other camera - is actually easy. Just remember to always use the real physical values of parameters ...
-
Exactly that's the case. In your example, the same subject won't be in focus anymore after cropping. I know that sounds counterintuitive at first because the image itself doesn't change a bit. But ...
-
Sure it does. The whole concept of depth of field is based on a defined circle of confusion (no pun intended). When you crop an image, you effectively enlarge parts of it and as a consequence the ...

Easy answer: You will get the best image quality at 200mm (or cropped equivalent thereof) by using the Z7 and the 24–200 and it will – by far – outperform the two combinations you mentioned.

Or some loose connection maybe.

You don’t happen to be shooting with polarized sunglasses on, do you? ;)

In how far are the manual functions of your other cameras different to the ones of the Ricohs? Granted, manual focussing with the Ricohs, except for the excellent snap focus feature, is pretty much ...
-
One more thing regarding AF-performance, since you mentioned it: I pretty much never use AF-C or tracking with any camera since my subjects don’t need that, but I’m sure your RX100 VII is better ...

For some years now I mostly use a Nikon Z7 & Z7 II and the Ricoh GR III & GR IIIx. While a FF DSLM gives more flexibility and higher image quality of course (and I just love the high-res ISO 64 ...

With most cameras I pretty much exclusively shoot RAW, do all the usual adjustments in a raw-converter and often additional finetuning in Photoshop. But with the GR III/x I enjoy a simpler approach ...

Thank you. Yes, as I think the chosen WB fits the light on-site and the slightly dreamy atmosphere of that scene better than perfectly white snow. But of course one could go different ways.
-
Thank you! Much appreciated. Nothing beats winter in the mountains. Or summer in the mountains. Or any season in the mountains. … and having a tiny GR at your side while enjoying the scenery of ...
-
I absolutely agree. You just have to dare the leap of faith for the first time and after that you like it. ;) By the way: Most modern cameras already have diffraction correcting algorithms included ...
-
Very nice. Also great closeups, as you are not afraid of closing the aperture quite a bit when needed.
-
The 24–120 sure is a great lens and a fine addition to the Z system. But when I want maximum coverage of focal range with a single lens, the 24–200 gives me much more in a smaller package and when ...
-
Aja. ;) Na dann drücke ich die Daumen. Ein paar Geschäfte hatten die Urban Edition ja schon, aber wohl auch rasch alle verkauft. Insbesondere falls du aus Wien kommst, zahlt es sich aus...

If you can not find it in stores in your country, have a look at the Ricoh online shop: https://www.ricoh-imaging.eu/ Quantities seem to be limited, but you can preorder the next batch. Where are...
-
Yes, it already is available in europe.
-
Nevermind. No dislike against you from my side. Sorry if my comments sounded too harsh, they were not meant to. It does not and while that would be technically possible the camera still would not ...
-
No I rather don’t want to. ;) It’s all fine – explanations on rather exotic functions like Snap Distance Priority are never wrong and your’s is welcome and helpful of course. I was just wondering ...
