Not sure why you keep posting about waking up after 4 years. I have numerous posts over the last year, and have been a member for 5 years. Seems you like to lie to further the issues you have here. What is obvious, is that you are an extreme Sony user, and won't accept being proven wrong by anyone.

@pwphotography. Nothing in this thread had to do with color. Seems you are just trolling Fuji users here. Looking at your profile, seems you are a Sony user. Why am I not surprised.

Because you refuse to, I will post using the same data site as you. This shows that in a Fuji camera, the X Trans version has a larger dynamic range compared to the Bayer. All you had to do was check that to see you were wrong. Instead, you looked at other brands, which is irrelevant. It appears not only are you ignorant, you are paranoid.

This shows you are wrong. I'll leave it to you to post an irrelevant last word. You seem to need it.

I will try to make this as simple for you as possible, as it appears you need to be spoonfed. You want to compare dynamic range between X Trans and Bayer. Fuji has both, using the same sensor. Compare those. I know you won't because doing so shows I am correct. Instead, you are comparing X Trans in Fuji to Bayer in Sony and Nikon. So, for your example to work, show me the Nikon and Sony X Trans CFa samples. Unless you can, your comparison is not valid. Now do as I say and look at the same sensor in Fuji cameras, the version and the X Trans version. Then get back to me. If you keep going on about Sony and Nikon bodies, then you prove my point that you are here to argue only. I deal with crazy and ignorance in my job everyday, I don't need to deal with it here with people like you.

You are not paying attention. You cannot compare the same sensor in different brands as the entire processing chain is different. You need to compare the same sensor in the same brand with the different CFA filters. In doing so, it is easy to see a slightly higher dynamic range in the X Trans version. Looking at different brands is meaningless as you don't know how the processing internally effects the dynamic range, nor the different specifications each company applies to the sensor. By comparing to different brands, you clearly don't understand what goes on behind the scenes. I won't bother replying to you further on this topic as you clearly want to argue and don't understand this discussion at all.

The a6500 nor the d7500 have nothing to do with the difference between Bayer versus X Trans in Fuji cameras. It is obvious you have no knowledge of Fuji equipment and your are just here to argue. I think you are simply best ignored as intelligent discussion with you is a nonstarter.

Unfortunately, your data are meaningless. You are comparing entirely different processing chains. You need to compare the 24mp Bayer vs X Trans in FUJI cameras, not between Sony and Nikon. In doing so, you will find the X Trans sensor in the Fuji has a larger dynamic range compared to the Bayer version. Data is worth more than words. But only if you understand what data you are using. You used the wrong data and came to the wrong conclusion. I am curious. What Fuji gear have you used yourself.

X Trans has nothing to do with dynamic range. The Bayer versions of the same Fuji sensors in Fuji cameras actually have lower dynamic range than the X Trans versions. Do you actually know anything about Fuji equipment, or are you one of those people who think they know everything because they link to a youtube video?

Not sure where you got this. Fuji, nor X Trans are all underexposed. There is no cheating

AlanG: Two things I find are missing from every post here on film.

1 A test shooting on film of the standard DPReview targets along with sensitometric measurements of dynamic range, contrast curves, and reciprocity failure chacteristics. Additionally, what happens when you use filters to correct for various continuous and discontinuous light sources?. And what is the role of scanning and PP on all of these afterwards?

2. What look or application can be accomplished with this film that cannot be nearly identically accomplished with a specific camera such as an A7RIII and good post skills?

I think if someone is looking to analyze sensitometric measurements, they don't understand why people use film.
