Exactly like the D5 - but better, faster, and LOUDER!

I TOTALLY WRECKED my left lower arm taking 7,000 photos with this beast in the first 20 hours I had the lens. 12 days later and I still have so much pain I'm having trouble sleeping. Thanks Nikon.
But it's sharp ....

Love the lens - but the images with the TC engaged are very poor vs. with the lens with no TC. I've adjusted AF Fine Tuning 5 times, and still the images are essentially unusable.
But, interestingly, images look OK using the D6 with this lens with TC engaged. Strange.

Sharp

Overpriced - especially compared to Sigma and Tamron 100-400

Still need this for full compatibility with my 18 year old Nikon 300mm 2.8 AF-S II D lens

Has always been the black sheep of the Nikon TC family. Almost all reviews are Meh.

Owned 1 copy, sold it when I got poor, then later bought another used that backfocused TERRIBLY on 4 camera bodies, sold that and later bought a third copy. I liked the lens, but it was less sharp from 370 to 400mm, and it needed a gimbal head.

Amazing lens, but EVERY time I used this lens I cursed the weight of this beast!

Zoom ring direction is OPPOSITE direction to Nikon. Stupid stupid stupid design decision.
