This is a wonderful camera I can't wait to buy it. Well done Pentax.
Very interesting read. I am mesmerized by your shot of the Supermarine Seafire just a wonderful photograph. Great article.
Best Regards
John
What a wonderful Seafire shot.
Great art photos are made by the Photographer not the camera....I chuck my blurry photos away ...I won't from now on, if its blurry but I like i will keep it.
Nice article.
Brilliant winner.
Great catch!
The styling is not Leggo-ish enough for me. Pentax and Fuji should join forces and conquer the world. It just needs in-body SR and a Pentax K mount and I would buy it in an instant....It's a great camera. I hope the Pentax K-02 has these features plus an OLED swivel screen.... and I would be in heaven.
Lovely photograph.
Great shot I think the Crab has him where he want's him....Zoidberg wins!
I'm so happy to be a Pentax user. The Pentax K-01 has in body SR, needs no adapter to fit K mount lenses. ......Canon should have done better, but it will sell by the bucket load no doubt.
The K-01 and 15mm f4 'By the way did I mention it also travels in time?'
Made you look!
Excellent work, very creepy :)
That's a wonderful image.
gmol: What's the point of a 60mm-equivalent lens? It's too narrow for indoor shots, and F2.8 is too small an aperture. Why is it that - with the exception of the Samsung 30mm f2 pancake - nobody has been able to produce a really usable and bright standard pancake since the Panny 20mm F1.7 was introduced 3 or 4 years ago?
Hi Gillamoto
- this 40mm lens is dedicated for aps-c sensor. so it will be 40mm with this camera, not 60mm.
The Da 40mm and new 40mm are both for dedicated for APS-C - equivalent to about 60mm in full frame.
Cheers
I was really considering a Sony NEX 7 until I held one in my hand. I have small hands and found the grip on the Sonyway too shallow even for me.
The Pentax body being thicker than other MILC cameras is a blessing in disguise. Pentax has given us a better options than the competition in this class. With full K mount compatibility without any adapters, and built in SR this camera beats the competition hands down. The next version should include the bells and whistles that I need, an EVF and a fully articulated screen. No doubt it will be announced the day after I purchase the K0-1....bugger.
Hey Pentax, can I be a tester for you?

I would have to disagree with you on this one. I find the Da 40 is on my K7 most of the time, it is really sharp fully open, it is an excellent portrait lens, especially indoors for chasing my 3 kids around the house. I have the the FA 1.4 which is also a good lens for this purpose but the 40 Da is better for fast moving subjects indoors. We all have a choice with this new camera to use whatever lens we want with built in SR Pentax really should be congratulated for supporting the K mount. This is great news as Pentax primes especially the primes is why I bought Pentax in the first place.
I want one now.
