  • Get the GX9. I have studied many tests/reviews, including a few German tests that showed that performance (resolving power, including at high ISO) is really close to modern APSC. ‘We’ always ...
  • Not at all tough. You seek confirmation, but, deep inside you know you want it, the 56 1.4 ;) And, I think it is a very good choice. The 56 is on my wish list, I love the out of focus rendering, ...
  • Haven't read it yet, but thanks for pointing it out. Your link is broken though, this is the full link (I think): https://www.engadget.com/2019/04/15/micro-four-thirds-future-interview/
  • Great choice, going to upgrade my gx80 myself. Even with the very good A6400 and x-t30, the gx9 is still my choice under 1000$ as the Sony and Fuji lack IBIS, which I have come to appreciate very ...
  • The zooms are very convenient, and the 35-100 F2.8 will provide decent separation at longer FL's, As TallAdam did, renting a prime would be a terrific option. The 45 1.2 (either PL or Oly), or the ...
  • Agreed! Most of the jpegs look really good in my view, with some exceptions. High ISO's seem super too. Too big though, but a pretty good camera over all.

  • M50, pro's: great 1080p, excellent video AF, fully articulating screen and a mic input. If you accept the use of an adapter and larger lenses, a good lens selection. M50, cons: -no image ...
  • Well, that crossed Tomwilde's post. But anyway, more proof ;)
  • As Lumenite said, it IS there. Maybe read the manual? (e.g. M50):
  • That is with IBIS I assume? Or if not, why would you turn it off? For me, shooting without any stabilization on that FL, only one in a few shots are sharp so I either need IBIS or faster SS.

Thanks, great info and again, I think they look really good. If I would have had to guess the ISO on some of these, I would definitively have guessed much lower. I have also moved some time ago to ...
  • Marco, A very nice set of images. The 1600 ISO images of both the 32mm and 22mm are impressive, detailed and very low on noise. I know (well, think I know) you shoot a lot of JPG's / SOOC, but did ...
  • Nice pictures. I am curious why you can't make photos of people with the M50? W.rt the noise in the sky: I don't find it excessive in these pictures, and to my eye there is about the same amount of ...
  • Or, easier for editing: just shoot in 4k; then downsample all clips to 1080p (batch, so takes little time of you  but compute time on your pc), and then afterwards edit the 1080p clips, which will ...
  • I personally think the bokeh of the sigma 56/1.4 is much nicer than the 42.5/1.7. The Panonic is a great lens, but the out of focus backgrounds can sometimes look a bit busy/harsh. I does have ...
  • Indeed. This is by far the most childish thread I have seen in a long, long time, in particular from the OP. The RP has too many compromises for me, but calling it RIP and laughing about it is just ...
  • Agree, but I would add that: - I have seen comments in the past that sharpening in camera actually does work for the GX85 - you can apparently hack the GX85 to support cine-d and cine-v profiles ...
  • Replied in GX9 Video AF
Yes, it is indeed unfortunate -but I can live with it (well, I expect). On my GX80 I focus by touch AF, works fine too, most of the time, but you can spot that the camea slightly lossed focus once ...
  • Replied in GX9 Video AF
Sorry, with a 20Mpx or more sensor, I meant.
  • Replied in GX9 Video AF
Thanks for that confirmation, that’s exactly what I hoped and little bit expected. The GX9 seems a great camera- it is the only sub 1000$ body with IBIS and 4K video (I think) and I need (want)
