Dr Mabuse: "A is the Nikon 500mm F5.6E PF and B is the Nikon 500m F4E."???
These pictures are recorded in a time span of some few seconds. How did he manage to change the lens so quickly ? On the background sharpness you can see that the aperture is wider in B than in A but I think it's just done with the same lens.

lmao at Dr. Sherlock

roweraay: I look at these offerings as essentially Sony ripoffs, right down to the 5-axis in-body stabilization and the on-sensor PDAF coverage. Nikon sat on its hands while Sony continuously innovated in the mirrorless space over the past several years, and finally Nikon just copied the latest Sony designs and features, and added a Nikon flavour to it, including the button layouts etc. Nikon followed Sony, regardless of how we try to cut it.

Sony copied when they decided to make a camera with an interchangeable lens. Why don't we go back to the beginning if you are going to make copy claims.

I am still looking for an upgrade to my D700 but nothing has come out that I feel is a worthy upgrade. The camera does just fine for me, it is on the heavy side but that's why I carry around a RX100. It only cost me $300 bucks about year ago, I have the money but find it so hard to drop $3k on any of these new cameras, I just don't see that much improved picture quality. I guess until the colors and overall IQ of my D700 start to go bad, should I even bother looking anymore.

I guess they have to come out with like 3D or something idk lmao. The images from the D700 still blow me away every time I come home to from a shoot. Do you think if I got one of these I would be that much more,(3k worth), blown away?

Nice camera! The fact I can use my old lenses is a nice selling point!

They claim it comes with the adapter, looks like a legit adapter too. We shall see if they pull it off that would be great for all of us.

Auricom 007: I am hoping Nikon will roll out their Expeed 6 engine with improved color sciences. Include IBIS and doesn't overheat like some other brands out there.

Include Software updates also Nikon, go ahead add 8gigs of extra ram in those bodies Nikon

I just hope the 4k video does not squeeze the image like the Sony at 24p. The Sony image makes everything more slender, it is not very accurate. It is subtle and I bet most people don't even know it but, I want accurate.

Edmond Leung: From Aug 23, 2018, we have one more professional choice other than 1DX2 and D5.
Great!

He is only talking about his opinion of what he considers Nikon professional cameras. That is why he is not taking into account the A7iii. Nor should he if does not like it, I doubt he cares if it is sold out or not, if that is what you base your choice on that is up to you. Me personally I would also base it on whether I like a camera or not and not whether it is in stock or not. Seems a ridiculous way of thinking...or non thinking idk.

FF Pro: Calling a 58mm F1.2 a noctilux is straight up marketing hype imho. Canon should rename their F1.2 lenses Noctis...

Noctilux? Are we making stuff up now? Noct is an old rare lens they made back in the day. If Canon named their lens Noctis it would be to much like Noct, this would be dumb. FF Pro? lmao

jazja: Any information about the adapter?
Price (adapter)?
Free with the camera :)?

He is asking about the one to adapt Nikkor F mount lenses that Nikon announced when they made the initial press release. As a Nikon shooter he probably has a bunch of Nikon lenses and is interested in their adaptability to the new camera. He obviously does not have E-mount lenses.

All this hate from the fanboys but they will be some of the first adopters. They probably wont like it though because their photographs will still look terrible.

@ivan1973 not sure who you were directing that too, but we have no idea what that feels like. I doubt anyone here cares what Sony is doing, (this is a Nikon forum for people interested in the new camera), otherwise they would be over at the Sony "Be Alpha" forum. How did you end up here?

@Suave - and has been to the NBA finals ever since, garnered the respect as one of the greatest players of all time, is in the top 10 of highest paid athletes on the planet. Yea trying to put Nikon down by comparing him to LeBron makes so much sense, please tell us more.

seloo: Nikon is building up a prestigious image for their future mirrorless line-up. I hope it won't turn in to a hype. All we need is choice of FF mirrorless cameras from at least 4-5 different brands to stop big corporations charging the consumer over the odds.
Fanboyism and one brand domination costs you a lot. So far Sony have been enjoying the very high profits in this segment. Don't let love blind you ;-)

I agree with you!

falconeyes: I hope the fast Z-Noct isn’t meant to be this camera’s unique selling point ...

Why do you not want that? What do you prefer it to be? I personally think it should be the new mount, more exciting than the camera, the camera will probably just have most of what a Sony camera has with improvements.

aris14: The only thing for sure is that Nikon guys understood that they have to make their entrance in the large format mirrorless noticeable... This is something.

Yea I think you are correct, it looks like they want to make a big deal about it to get some attention. We will see if the camera works out, hopefully it does!

Absolutic: Nikon is releasing 58mm F0.95 lens for the new system is competitive advantage. Sony is yet to release any native lens faster than F1.4. Some argue it is physically impossible for Sony to do so due to physical size of the mount. I think Nikon is going to concentrate on glass advantage rather than camera specs alone.

@RubberDials Coming out with a f/1.2 lens suggests to you that the new camera is technically underwhelming? You Sony fanboys just never quit coming up with 'genius' statements.

Who cares why they are doing it! We love it! Why does that bother you!

@RubberDials We also know Nikon can make cameras? What is this Nikon's first camera or something?

What is the lens the singing or guitar? Your analogy makes absolutely no sense.

I would guess that this will be the case. I see to many posts from Sony people in here. They are extremely interested.

Too funny - you know it's going down exactly like this.

Sony MILC user: "I care to much about what others want to buy! Makes me jealous because I already spent thousands on this Sony camera!"

Too funny - You know its going down exactly like this.

I have not seen anyone say Nikon is going to have a higher market cap than Sony. If we are talking cameras, it would be the other way around, Sony would need to steam roll Nikon. Nikon is ahead. How is the popcorn?

Nikon's ad campaign has Sony fans so angry, it can only be jealousy. If you like your Sony camera and do not care for this release why are they all in here posting so much. We could care less what you think or what camera is better, we like this one! Must be the "Be Alpha" brain washing.
