May I know what place is this. It definitely looks cold. I feel that the photo will look even better if you increase the saturation of the sun rays.

This shot was taken at the Sungai Patani or Patani River located at a small town Sungai Patani in the state of Kedah, Malaysia. Check up goole map and you can see the location.

China is a great place to visit. You will see things and structures which are mind boggling. There are still plenty of minority races and cultures still exist here now and could be disapppering soon due to rapid development in China. I make it a point to visit China at least twice a year until my end of time. This coming Oct 13 I will be leading a group of 19 people to visit the most scenic part of China; West Sichuan and Juijaigou (14-day). Anyone interested please kindly let me know.

Roland Karlsson: Fantastic! I actually like the bus. It is positioned in a very photogenic way, going towards the most important road bend in the picture, and also coming out of the next most important road bend. It is perfectly placed. It is also nice that the bus is the only vehicle you can see. And the bridge! It is positioned diagonally up and behind the bus. Nice!

My only gripe with the image is that it is a pretty view just being there. Everyone sees it going by the cable car. Except for the bus, there have to be thousands of almost identical images.

And may I ask the photographer. Did you anticipate the bus and where it was and planned the exact moment to take the image? Or ... was the perfect timing just luck?

It's coincident that the bus is there when I took the shot.

Rod McD: Wow, that's quite something. What a feat of road-building. And an extraordinary place. Was the image shot from another point on the same road? Or a nearby peak or helicopter? Whatever, it's a great shot.

This photo was shot from a cable car.

valenttin: Why not the "out of the camera" image?

The out of camera size is too big.

anisah: Have the entrants so far not read the challenge rules, or have I misunderstood them? From what is said it would appear that entrants are expected to download the example image and use their post process skills to remove the grain and sharpen the image without sacrificing detail and colour. All entrants (4) at this stage have entered new images of kingfishers.
It would be helpful if the host would clarify the expectations for this challenge.

All are welcome.

Yes all processing must be done on the sample image provided. The processed image must be uploaded in it's original size. This is a challenge in your processing skills.

Very impressive. How long does it it take to do the processing? Is the process automated or a lot of mual work?

So far you are ahead of the rest. Looks like Topaz de noise is an excellent tool. Is all the steps you mentioned are automated or you have to spend a lot of effort to do it. How long does it take for you to process the photo.

You should be there to realise how difficult and basic life is. I saw 1 women porter feeding 4 young kids as she carry on with her porter work. The kids follow her cart as she moves about.

Thank you for your kind comment. By the way the scene is sun rise (day break) rather then sunset.

Thank you Ed. Yes the Mitakon 50mm f0.9 is a remarkable lens especially under very low light condition. The IQ is very good and value for money too. It costs less then USD1k and it is a China lens.
