luben solev: What i find interesting is that DPReview is happy to cover these extremely expensive video cameras that happen to also do stills, but don't cover similarly priced medium format dslrs that are all about photography.

Yes indeed. Where are the reviews for the H4D or the 645D?

If you are not a film maker this means very little to you. If you are going to make an indie film there are plenty of equipment out there doing similar things, and for rent. Shoe string budget producers should look at the 7D, not the 300C.

onlooker: The camera may be very good, but they need to get a new marcom person to get rid of nauseating stuff like:

# Professional 11MP Sensor
or:
# 2x Sharper Glass Lens
or:
# Professional Low Light Performance

Drivel like that immediately makes me question their integrity, however unjust that may be.

Yes, very poor PR write up indeed. Tells you a lot about this company.

Can't wait to see the image samples.

BTW I am still convinced that a 30-40mp 1D is in the making.

Tells you without LV the M9 focusing is not consistence enough to compare at critical situations.

Canon, take notes. Bring out your best FF mirrorless please!

The same look can be achieved by a $20 copy made in Asia. Sorry, it is a total fail because the wood is too decorative and not pratical. This makes the gold plated snake skin wrapped Leica look like a pj everyday camera, and the Hassy Ferrari edition a good buy!

jumpshotjr: Much smaller sensor but it's the same price as a NEX-5N body?

Should've been $499 since they're really competing with the G12, LX5, and P7100.

Although I am not drawing conclusions yet without trying out the Fuji, you gotta take the lens into account. That is some fast zoom Fuji is offering, and of relatively small size.

vshin: It's funny how a 2/3" sensor for $600 is "reasonable" but a smaller camera with a 1" sensor and interchangeable lens for $650 is highway robbery.

What camera are you talking about?

Good price point on the X10. That's actually cheaper than I thought it would be.

The question is would they go small on the sensor for this mirrorless or will they build a new system off the X100.

love_them_all: I don't see any practical use on the M4/3 still camera bodies. It is not cheap to start with. If I have to use EF lenses on the mirrorless I'd rather get a $120 adaptor with manual aperture, or simply shoot them wide open with ND filters if needed.

And where is the AF control??

Get a Canon body already!

Read my post again. I said still camera.

On article Nikon shares rise as Nikkei suggests mirrorless launch (114 comments in total)

Canikon missed the opportunity to launch a new APS-c ml system before Sony and samsung. If they are serious on this market they should offer a least an FF ver for m lenses owners. The beauty of ml is the mount loyalty can be cross platform. I'm a nex owner but would not need to think twice to get a FF ml body if it is under $2-2.5k, depending on features. On the other hand if they are going to go small they should consider a 4x crop or so, laying the grounds for a format with super reach.

My heart skipped a beat when I first see the picture thinking it could be an interchangeable mirrorless or a FF camera. LOL

320 x 240 on the older ones.

This kind of effect can be easily "copied" by a software. Take a picture with the max DOF, then in post the software can burr out zones of the picture...

If I didn't have the NEX I would consider this camera. The M mount register distance may also limit the ricoh's ability to use other RF lenses I am afraid.

jj74e: Hm...I always see stuff on their website about their Fujinon lenses being world class, and I always wonder if that's just marketing or if their lenses really were high quality at some point.

They make great lenses, especially those from the MF lineup.
