Thank you -  I think it means that the pub is independent, not tied to a particular brewery, so that it is ‘free’ to stock whichever drinks it chooses.
  • Replied in The Big Smoke
I had a day in London without the kids but the weather was atrocious. Also, the two sites I really wanted to visit - Millenium Bridge and Westminster - were both covered in scaffolding works.

First trip to Troup Head RSPB Reserve this year.  First trip since the EM5,2 gave up so trying out my new EM1,2 and new 40-150 & 1.4tc.   What a difference - last year I had to prefocus and wait ...
  • 50mph winds on Sunday and as I drive past the beach I noticed some foolhardy souls were taking advantage of it.  A long way out so used the slow focussing Sigma 150-600c with Metabones smart adaptor
  • Replied in M43 prints
Standing next to it you notice lack of sharpness compared to viewing on smaller screens but when you step back to a comfortable distance it looks grand. It’s going above a sofa so no one will get ...

I read that the new lens is expected to be released 2020 but Park Cameras already have a place holder for it on their lens page. Seems a bit early to start taking pre-orders!
  • It was £899 a couple of weeks ago.
  • Cheers, also seen it for £1149 at Ffordes.  Just surprised with the increase as looked today as planning to buy at the weekend. Just a massive difference and all at the same time!
  • The 3 lenses I was looking at have each gone up £300: 12-100, 40-150 +1.4 and 300. the cash back offer finished end of Jan so was actually expecting a new offer, not a price increase. That’s an ...
  • I had my usual half hour peace at sunrise this morning and then had a couple of hours at the local RSPB Reserve, Loch of Strathbeg, with the local photography group.  I think it is clear that I’m ...
  • my first trip to Forvie  Nature Reserve to visit the SEOs there.  My 75-300 with 1mk2 managed to lock and track focus on the owls fairly well, just too far away and as at ISO 800 the images aren’t ...
  • Replied in stormy shag!
went to the harbour in the neighbouring town as some high winds today although high wasn’t until after sunset.  Caught a few waves at the lighthouse but it got too dark before the larger ones ...
  • Created discussion thread Another EM1X rumour release - Sat night

  • It was taken in low light and was ‘hand-held’ but braced onmy knee as I sat on the ground.  I find a tripod too slow for the surfers.
  • Yes, works best when pre-focussing or using the focus limiter. A tripod isn’t always necessary but some sort of support is at the long end - brace against a wall, rolled up jacket , on a knee. ...
