As there aren't enough bird shots in this forum... :) I don't shoot Blue Tits too often as they are among the most common birds around but may grab a shot or two if they happen to land in front of ...

Thanks! Yeah they are probably the prettiest woodys that we have in Finland. I can definitely recommend trying out the 2x with the 300mm. I've had one now for about year and a half. I don't use it ...

Good stuff as usual. First one is my favorite of the bunch. Marko

Remote working day on Friday so took a quick jog along one of the local shores. Perfect crisp winter morning with the sun just rising. I'm starting to gradually warm up to taking photos with a ...

Came across this handsome Grey-headed woody about a month ago in one of the local forests. They are not too common in Finland, so it was a nice and unexpected surprise. The bird was not in too much ...

The first one especially is awesome. Marko

That is quite striking. Marko

Thanks Danny. I'd prefer to use a bit higher shutter speeds but we are just a bit light limited here in the north this time of the year! They are beautiful birds and the color of the breast on the ...

Unfortunately winters are quite unpredictable in southern Finland these days. We got a lot of snow earlier which is now mostly gone. Things in the north though are very wintry! Marko

Apparently a "flock" of bullfinches is called a "bellowing". Live and learn. Anyways, we have a "bellowing" of bullfinches that have settled in a nearby forest patch for the winter. They seem to be ...

Very nice, especially the first one. Lovely light and colors. Marko

I like the kingfisher shots with the dark leafy backgrounds. Such striking birds. Shooting RAW certainly has it advantages for bird shots, also as an enabler for using higher ISO's in combination ...

Thanks Simon. For small birds in low-ish light, I typically shoot short burst to catch the moment when the bird is still. Their movements are always erratic with lots of starts and stops. For this ...

Wow, awesome. Gorgeous birds. Marko

Just thought I'd mention that I've cleaned up the files with ON1 NoNoise. RAW's were fairly noisy at ISO3200 but they clean up quite nicely. Marko

Thanks Jim. Our Willow tits also look quite similar to the chickadees. Marko
