onlooker: The camera may be very good, but they need to get a new marcom person to get rid of nauseating stuff like:

# Professional 11MP Sensor
or:
# 2x Sharper Glass Lens
or:
# Professional Low Light Performance

Drivel like that immediately makes me question their integrity, however unjust that may be.

No, it was just an example.

If you would understand their target audience you would realize that their press release is perfect. Their target audience is surfers, bikers, racing drivers who are not professional photographers and could not understand what does "F2.0" mean.
"2 x shaper" is perfect for their target consumers.

I like the design, very classy but the lens is too big. They should have invested some effort into a pancake zoom lens and launch the system with that.

I have a Panasonic LX3 and view this Canon S100 as a nice possible upgrade. I think it will beat the LX5 which is only marginally better than the LX3. It is smaller, has 30fps HD video and stereo microphone, big zoom that can be used while filming, plus mpeg4 movie format. It really doesn't lack anything as an advanced point-and-shoot.
