Antoneeo: I bought this phone 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it is well below my expectation. Before this I had (and still own) a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. To be honest the bigger problem is that it misses the focus too often even in bright light. This carries to out of focus images. Sometime they are just slightly out of focus, some other they completely miss the focus. This is not acceptable by a phone at this level. I will sell it on ebay and save the money for the Galaxy Note 7...
To be clear, the few times that the focus is ok the pictures are really good. But to me this issue is too much annoying. This morning I went out with some friends and took a lot of pictures. They are 50% out of focus. The phone itself is great, nice HW, materials, shape and performances. But for me the camera department is the most important so.. I will go back to my reliable Note 3 until the Note 7 drops in price.

You may have defective copy.
The specs of the camera are such that if your object is 3m away or more from the camera, it must be in focus. The depth of field is huge for this camera.
If your object is closer, you must tell the camera what you want to be in focus. Touch the object on the viewfinder, you will see a white circle changing colour to orange. That means it locked focus on that.

I sometimes get fuzzy pictures, but it is not that they are out of focus. The camera will lower the shutter speed to 1/30 before it increases ISO.
1/30 is too long for a hand-held camera without OIS, and pictures could get fuzzy. To prevent this, I use the PRO mode where I can see the shutter speed selected by the camera, and override it if necessary.

I have had this phone for a couple of weeks and like it. Who cares if it doesn't have the best camera, or if the two lenses are pure gimmick.
Its a beautiful package - nice looks, good camera, good price. No matter what, next year will bring something better. So no matter what you buy, it will be obsolete a year later.
I would like to make a few constructive comments in the hope that somebody from Huawei will pick them up.
The camera has a PRO mode. It has the functionality of a Program mode, Shutter priority and ISO priority. Aperture priority, as I found out only recently, is not possible on phone cameras.
But the user interface is nothing like a DSLR user would be used to. There is no AE mode selector, no histogram, no auto flash in this PRO mode. The icons aren't "industry standard", they all look rather amateurish.
Common Huawei, clean it up in the next update. Make the PRO interface look like a DSLR.
I am surprised that Lars hasn't commented on this.

Francis Carver: Yawn.... yet another same old same old digi-cam. Hurrah, I guess.

This one does not even have an electronic viewfinder, let alone optical.

I take my in yellow!!

Finally somebody realised it.
These days a mirrorless must have an EVF, preferably in-built one.

It is a fashion accessory, this camera, nothing more.

umbalito: DA Limited Zoom??!! DA Limited Zoom! DA Limited Zoom!

Not quite sure what to make of the DA* ultra zoom either. From the markings on the chart, it almost looks like a 24-80. Pretty useless for APS-C. I doubt they can make an 18-200 f/2.8? Unless they're turning the DA* nomenclature to mean weather-sealed only, and no longer constant aperture and weather-sealed.

A zoom that they should have made years ago to stop people leaving. Everybody was asking for a star quality walk-around zoom.
Even now it is slotted to 2013 "or later".

Pentax seems to be making fashion accessories lately. Designed by renowned designers!!
