Excellent article, thank you! I started to blame my camera for noisy low light shots...might be user error after all ; )

I think it's safe to assume that the upcoming FF Pentax will have pixelshift as well?
Imagine the detail quality a FF sensor of 36 megapixel (or even only 24 megapixel) will provide using pixelshift technology.
A pixel peepers' wet dream.

Roadrunnerdeluxe: Sorry Pentax, but I will jump ship if there won't be a FF by this year. D750 is too tempting.

@Cane

It's because I started out on Pentax and feel emotionally connected to that brand but equally feel that I am outgrowing my equipment and am at the point to go FF. I'd love to stick with Pentax and will wait some more.

balico: Sure the D750 is an awesome piece of equipment, and maybe it is on many points better then the D810, would be nice to have a review of the 810 to compare though..

There are actually a couple of those comparative tests out there. Basically, they come to the conclusion that the D750 has better under exposure recovery and less noise overall, whereas the D810 still definitely has a pretty good resolution advantage. Thanks to the amazing high-ISO abilities, a lot of wedding photographers are ready to ditch their 800/810's for this though.

The Yake-dee-yak-athon is on!

Please read all the reviews across the interwebs if you don't feel like taking DPR's review as the only source. It is pretty unisono: this camera is a good leap forward image quality/noise wise/low light focusing/dynamic range.

I can't even imagine drowning my eyes in the creamy bokeh of this camera paired with a Zeiss lens wide open..

I hope it comes with a small bicycle, so I can explore all of that vast dynamic range.

What a beast!

neo_nights: It's positively amazing that we do not have pictures of: People suffering nor old people from distant villages with their faces oversharpened and over constrasty to makes their wrinkles stand out.

I think that even clichè pictures like #9 are well done and nice to look at.

I agree, speaking of beaten-to-death photo locales and themes...then his happens: Ugh!

These are great photos! As an Gemini/Apollo space program addict, the typical 60's technological designs and their inherent minimalism is just pure beauty.

Roadrunnerdeluxe: If you like to take good photos you might want to look elsewhere, the sensor rating is a bit underwhelming according to DxO with a rating of 70 that comes with an equally underwhelming dynamic range. I wouldn't call that pro-level.

The above test proves and states exactly what DxO found, the dynamic range of this brand new camera is outdone by a four year old Sony sensor in a Nikon. I am not invested in either brand, but there you have it.
