A very in-depth, very promising preview on the K-1, titled with:

"Pentax K1: Super Resolution Mode Appears to be Best DSLR Quality Yet"

Midwest: The only full frame DSLR with a stabilized sensor... maybe because stabilizing the sensor on a DSLR (instead of the lens) doesn't make a lot of sense unless you LIKE a viewfinder that has nonstop jitters.

That's not how it works. You look at the mirror through the viewfinder not the sensor.

RedFox88: $1800 and no 4k? SMH lol!

If you want a watered-down gadget bloated camera, the 80D might be right for a lot of people. Even though it might have far better video capabilities than any Pentax its photography qualities will most likely be as lackluster as the 7D II's.

I applaud Pentax for not giving a crap about anything besides making excellent stills cameras. I for one don't care about touch screens, video or print buttons.

I feared so, thanks for the reply!

What I really love is that Pentax does not cater to the must-have-all-features mainstream-spoiled gadget hounds and keeps it a sleek photo machine with a single purpose: take stills.

Intermittentoverexposure: Just as everyone is looking to FF mirrorless, Pentax releases a FF DSL. /facepalm

If you are a gadget hound who has to have whatever is new, the above is probably true for yourself. Not for me.

Amazing photos, especially New York in winter.

But: how many more white on black architecture photos with a hazy, wispy cloud for accent does the world need?

moji: Perhaps the whole mystery is there! May be that is not a typo. May be they introduce a new system totally different with DSLR and call it Digital SRL.

I was thinking along those lines and I really hope so as that would make plenty of people eat plenty of words.

Mssimo: Let me translate Nikon's "announcement" to plain English: "Nikon asks users to be patient and stop going to Sony"

Nice! Quite some truth in that...

John McMillin: The presence of a "Crop" control seems unnecessary if the camera does a simple crop for APS-C lenses. That could be handled automatically, like Nikon does (I think, I don't own one). But this dial setting implies there's a reason for manual control. I hope very much that this camera offers a switchable
range of in-camera crops including variable VF masks for 4:3, and 1:1, my favorite formats.

I really like the crop control, yet more freedom for the user to decide whether to crop or not.

I had been sold on this camera a year ago. Now I'm even much more solder so. Look at that LCD construction. Amazing! Want. Now!

Mister Joseph: A7RII, D810 , 5DSR, and guess what? Pentax K-3 II PixelShift. That's my favorite pixel-peeper comparison. IF the upcoming Pentax FF has PixelShift, it's gonna be crazy!

Pixelshift will be immensely useful for me in architecture photography, macros and the like and I can't wait to experience it. If you are a sports or action photographer it obviously won't do you any good.
Pentax uses their own pixelshift principle as they each pixel is fully offset for each exposure as compared to Olympus. While they didn't invent the concept, given the Pentax FF will use the 42MP Sony sensor, the picture quality will be off the charts.
