So Sony agreed to give me a replacement but will have to wait 2-3 weeks for the order from Japan.

You obviously don’t read. Do you even own the a copy? Of course I would have exhausted numerous options before deciding to post here. Should I post all the hundreds of bad images here? I’m not ...

I can’t post all the bad photos I have. I’ve been using it for a month and pics with TC can’t reach the sharpness level of the bare lens, like I said before I have yet to get a sharp image up to ...

I’m not sure what can go wrong with a TC. It is a simple device relative to a lens. I’ve inspected the glass and it looks fine. My gear is all less than a month old.
-
I did exactly that. Using test photos taken at home, I digital crop the 600mm to match the 840mm and the bare lens looks better. I am in disbelief thinking what am I using the TC for! 🤣

Here are 2 full photos from each sequence. They are untouched, straight raw to jpg export in C1.
-
I stop the bare lens to f5.6 to match the TC. I shot with timer. I use a very stable tripod flexshooter pro and leofoto ls365c.
-
The photos I uploaded are selected to show the softness from my TC since they look fairly similar. I have many other shots of smaller and further birds that the TC wasn’t living up to my ...

Yeah I understand. Its just that I’ve read many swear by the TC that it stays on permanently. The results I got were disappointing as evident from the 2 pics and many others in my HDD. Ps i like ...

I read many say the 1.4x and 600 works so well but i was disappointed with my results. I have topaz but did not use them for these 2 photos. Default denoise and sharpening settings by C1.

I picked the sharpest pic from 2 different sequence of photos. Both pics are cropped 67%, adjusted exposure with C1. I am impressed with the a1+600mm combo like in pic1. But so far I have not ...

I did but I map it to the AEL button. Bottom left green (( )) means AF is activated if you think it isn't. Also I already tried AF with/without shutter, mapped to different buttons.

My camera seems to lock up and not focusing properly while shooting subjects of different depth. I did a test for focusing only without shooting and it works properly. In the first video I was only ...

I did, with random objects around with the same results. The bottles were easier to set up to take a video for posting.
-
I guess so. But why when i half press the shutter without shooting, the camera switches focus flawlessly. The problem arises when I shoot.
-
My initial thought but recently kept missing shots and couldn't get tack sharp images like before. I've tried wide/zone/Mspot. Aperture wide open at f6.3. The words are dark against a light ...

Gear: A9, 200-600g Settings: AF sensitivity 5, Shutter priority AF I did a test with 2 bottles, one slightly further back. From the video, you can see in some instances the camera took a long time ...

That is because you have not shot under extreme parameters. The bird's face is at the front. AF tend to focus on the closer subject. In this photo, at very close proximity of only a few meters, the ...

I use the a9 and have this problem. What I do is focus at the distance i predict the action will happen so that my lens motors are nearer to the correct focus. If your lens is focused at 5m but ...

Eye af is a must. It opens up doors to new possibilities and present unseen perspective. I'm shooting kingfishers up close and at f10 dof is really shallow, and I'm struggling. Sure I've had some ...
