attomole: Frankly the cost of photographic equipment is such that even a fairy basic mid to top range kit, Say a Canon R6 and set of three lenses is 6K+ for many that is fantasy

Exactly.. as a Canon shooter with my “old” but faithful 6D Mk I and my 30 yr old EF lenses .. I feel disqualified from this never ending technology race

Madaboutpix: Thanks a lot for the honest, balanced, and perceptive review of the latest Nik Collection, Mike. Whenever I read your name in the byline, I know that I'm in competent hands. The unevenness across the different plugins remains an issue, but where it excels the Nik Collection is still hard to beat, and I'm glad that DxO keeps evolving it. Upgraded.

Same

Nice balanced review

Upgraded to V4 too

gaul: Sold on the form factor only

The EF versions really are white elephants .. too heavy, much too long.. staying forever at home

First reason to upgrade to RF in my case

JV: I don't know how to make a poll.
But, who would buy a GM6 if: it has a good EVF, with top notch buttons (not the cheap GM5 toy buttons) and wheels, with perfect DFD AF-S and a 16MP sensor with perfectly usable 6400ISO.

I remember one day after my GM5 was stolen (a camera I was carrying all the time in my small man's bag), a perfect scene, a perfect moment with my family.
I remember taking a wonderful moment of love between my son and his mama one morning because I had this small GM5 at hand when we went out for breakfast.

Shehe is looking too much in the mirror ;)

Let’s stop this discussion.. Phrases are lacking details, even camera brands are not specified, terms are wrongly used.. Useless discussion. We waste our time.. bye

gaul: MineCraft on my Canon?

Maybe AI instead Canon?

The market has asked for onboard AI for years .. when will Canikon listen to their customers?

Well, « people ».. as « normal people »

If Amazon plays too much the cheap copycat game.. they will be obliterated by the even cheaper competitors as AliExpress..

Well .. as a Canon shooter .. I understand that Nikon is interested in supporting Nikon cameras .. not sure what’s your point here

Mikho: Wonder whether it could be useful for other cameras. 🤔

Why wouldn't camera producers altogether create an unprofitable org to provide one unified good image processing and management software (or really cheap one). It's just unreasonable to pay Adobe for LR and it's a pain to juggle different producers' own incomplete and unpolished software. They still spend on it more than they'd spend on such a unified one. It's easier to do it the way big IT companies do with supporting open-source software and standards.

As a Canon shooter, while I have no idea what this camera can deliver and what is « inside » .. for once, I like the « outside », body and controls..

Much better than the other Sony cameras

Thanks SERIF for the best ratio « value for price » in the market

Now give us a so-called « Lightroom alternative » with a good catalog module
