On photo The Names of the Fallen in the Memorial Day challenge (5 comments in total)

My Name is on that wall but thankfully it isn't actually me, even though I was there at the time. What are the chances of two Donald Ray Bledsoe guys being in the Army at the same time and one of us ending up on the wall and the other not, one from Tennessee and one from California?

When I first visited the Wall in 1989 to look up some friends and just see the Wall, which was very controversial to us veterans at the time, I was stunned to see my name on it.

Be all that as it may, I like your photo. I think it captures a mood with the blackness of the Wall and the brightness in the distance. Vietnam was a blackness for we Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines but there was light beyond, eventually, but so dark to gray to light to get through it, the stigma if you will. We did what was asked of us by our Country but we never quite came out of it intact, neither we soldiers nor the Country we served. At least that's how your shot strikes me.

Thanks for posting it.
