stevo23: These guys always crack me up in how they put jabs at the competition:

"Rather than some of the very novel features that some of our competitors have been introducing, we believe that it’s really important to deliver the basics. Speed, ease of use, and good image quality. "

So in other words, Sony doesn't have speed or good image quality and is hard to use? Please. And what novel features that are also very useful?

I have no doubt that Canon can pull this off, but I have doubts they will as well. They're arrogance might get in the way.

There is no denying that Canons are snappy and easy to use. They are being bashed for being boring and not innovative, but I have never heard anyone say they are poor tools. This is what Canon does better than most, being reliable, usable tools.
Sony have been the opposite, with poor battery, sluggish handling etc. though the new A7III and A7RIII (and A9) fixes this. I am going the Sony route myself, perhaps this year, but Canon have some serious strengths, as does Sony (IQ being one of them).

lighthunter80: Kudos to Sigma for shaking up the big brands in the innovation department. However, this monster of a lens overshoots the goal in my mind.

It's too big and heavy to be practical. In all honesty, even a good 85/1.8 is in my mind a better alternative in terms of weight, size and cost.

I am a speed lover but within reason. Do we really need a 1.5kg 105mm lens at f1.4?
An f2.0 would have been fast and totally fine.

Yes we do πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
I need it badly!!!

I need that 105mm in my life!

AshMills: Hang on, "printers of the future"? Really? HDR printing? HDR Magazines? Is that a thing?

Well, when SAAB launched their turbo models it caught on like wild fire. Everything was suddenly turbo, even turbo sunglasses... imagine that!
Seems like HDR is going the same way :D

Can you arrange 20 questions to Canon as well, about 6D mark ii and the 5D mark IV?

I wonder if this article would have been written at all if the Canon 6D mark II did not cause so much discussion around Dynamic Range and how Canon have failed.
Customers might have a point..

Nikoncanonfan: For goodness sake stop being cheapskates buying this junk don't you have pride over genuine canon products? I wouldn't wipe my backside with this stuff

You can probably get around 750 full power wipes. Not bad :)

retr01976: Canon's price point for this camera needs to be $1200 max. $1999 would have been fine 5 years ago, in today's market this camera is highly overpriced.

Canon should only use one price, no matter what product: $1337

Zzzyzzzyx: Sigma states that in order to use the dock, you have to have 1 GB of free disk space. My iMac has a total capacity of 1 GB, so as soon as I install the Optimization Pro software I'm below required capacity.

You are not confusing GB with TB?

I am thinking of buying this camera to my wife for christmas. I guess it is a good choice no matter what, and she can also use my Canon flashes if she need to.

Yes, that is a good point. I do want a hotshoe, and she is quite a capable photographer. Though, the camera would spend most of its time in full auto... I´ll let her choose herself :)

How the heck can you have limited zoom range as a "con"? If you buy a 18-35mm, then that is what you get.
If you buy a 16mm prime, you cant say that it is a negative that it is too wide. It is what it is!

This camera is just an App. It is an instagram App in a dedicated, weird, camera body.
Cool, I like!
