Lighter weight than what?

I've traveled with the Panasonic Lumix 12-60mm and Panasonic 7-14mm. I would miss the zoom of the UWA if I had just that prime lens. But a lot depends on what/how you like to photograph, thus, ...

I use for flash because flash won't work with silent (aka electronic) shutter. My normal use, so as to save wear/tear on the mechanical shutter. After seven years, my 2 A7Rii cameras have 6179 and ...

So what? Yours don't have to be. Not I. No matter what AI does, it can't replace the personal experience of being in a location for a nice photograph, such as I had when on the Kern River, ...

I won't argue with your definition of "pretty," but having grown up in Florida, I characterize it as "beautiful." Very subjective. If you are attracted to mountain terrain as your primary subject, ...

As a A7Rii user, if I were upgrading, it would be the A7Rv because of the difference in resolution over the A7iv for landscapes, and more cropping latitude with Macro.

The last time I read a review was when I started with Micro Four Thirds in 2011 when the Panasonic G3 was the current G camera. I read several reviews, they were contradictory, especially with ...

FE 2.8/50 Macro which I own. No other prime can function both as a light weight (8.4 oz /236.6g) normal focal length lens (50mm) and a 1:1 macro lens. The FE 90mm Macro is too long a focal length ...

I'm still using the original 4 batteries (2 came with each camera). I haven't had the battery issue that others have. When traveling, if I start the day with a freshly charged battery, it lasts all ...

Excellent points, Gary! I suggested that had the OP captioned/titled his photograph, then the viewers would know specifically what he had in mind. I do that with many of mine, especially where the ...

Why did it take so long?! When I decided to add a FF system, I chose the bodies (2 of the same) and the 2 prime lenses I wanted. Then I saved up the money and purchased them.

I wouldn't be happy with that! Lacking specific occasions away from home, I always have my garden, where I photograph most every day. Especially "projects." This Fall/Winter I've been tracking ...

My experience with adapted lenses is that I recommend a lens made for e-mount.

I love it. The comments about a defined subject have merit, but if you caption the photograph something like "Wild grasses on the pond" then viewers know that your subject is the foreground. I have ...

No. Not a useful range (too short) for me for everyday situations. The Lumix 12-60mm (210g is better for me. For everyday use, 12mm suffices. If I need wider for architecture, I have 7-14mm.

When I started with Sony, I hadn't planned on *not* upgrading the camera, but as each new model is released, I ask myself: Is there a compelling reason to leave this camera for another? So far the ...

That sounds fine to me. I've done similar with my GX8 + 12-60 + 45-150 + 20/1.7 Just curious: If you want to travel light, why two cameras?

I'll echo joger's comment. The flexibility of a UWA zoom is wonderful. Some examples while you are waiting for his reply: A couple of landscapes: Wide is very nice when wanting to emphasize the ...
