cyberpi1: «Is the Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R right for you?»
Actually, not even close...
Dated AF, bad eye af implementation, poor battery life, overpriced/oversized lens, no flash allowed for Hi-res mode. Gees, Panasonic, looks like you did only one thing right - big body.
You can use flash with the Olympus Em1 mk2. There is a " flash charge Time " menu to set it up.
Ben Herrmann: Look - be realistic here homies. This lens, like so many other all-in-one variety of optics (from all of the brands) will have optical trade-offs - and usually at the long end of things. These images look nice, but the clarity captured by shorter higher-end zooms or primes will just not be there. It is what it is and you have only to compare these with images from a variety of 18-200 or 28-300 or 24-300, or whatever other similar zoom lenses out there, to make a comparison.
I tend to crack up when I read some of the so called experts inadvertently try to compare these huge focal reach zoom lenses with primes or top end shorter zooms. When comparing other lenses within this genre (again, from all of the brands), you'd see that these aren't bad at all!
I'm a Prime lens guy but the Olympus 12-100mm f4 Pro is quite spectacular IMO.
