JeanPierre Thibaudeau: For me, to get only 210 shots from one charge is unacceptable for a camera of that price range. My old Elph SD870 gets close to 400 shots per charge. Not to mention my even older Fuji F30 at 590 shots per charge.
I bet you that if this G7X would have provided 400 shots per charge, the rating of DPR would have been 1 or 2 points higher than 77%. And that'd be pretty much understandable. My 2 cents worth.

Battery is the least problem. IQ is much bigger issue for me.

mumintroll: Many people arguing that it has 4K video and? How many from you have 4K TV or monitor? Me not and I will not have it anytime soon. Sure 4K is the future but today?

SulfurousBeast: I agree. But 4K availability should not be deciding factor today. Next year in December.... maybe. But till then will be on the market many other cameras with 4K.

SulfurousBeast. Manufacturers need make money from it at first. Then the price will go down. But don't forget, that market is full of regular TVs. People spent thousands for LCD couple months-years ago. Not many of them will be willing to spend another thousand. Especially if they have 1 year old tv and broadcast is not even 1080p.

Roy LaFaver: I should never look at samples. The only time I was ever wow'ed by samples was the D800E. Everything else pales by comparison. But some of these are pretty good. Architecture shot at big apertures did not work here, so some of the shots were throw-aways. But that shot of the bridge caught my eye. I want to like this camera because of the 4K video. I was pleased with the shallow DOF on that shot of the autumn leaves. Not crazy about the portraits, but I have to believe the camera can do better. I don't know. Sort of underwhelmed, but some of the shots show a lot of promise. How about that high ISO shot of the cork? Nice.

Roy LaFaver:

I see WOW pictures from Sigma. Especially from new Sigma quattro.

plasnu: Nikon tried to make D750 as light as possible omitting 1/8000 and 8fps to compete with mirrorless, but the result is not what people were waiting for.

I will go for Sigma quattro. Sorry wrong post.

This is the future for sure. But not right now. It needs at least 10 years to get to the real usage.

40daystogo: In life, the vast majority of people think short term, and recognize but ignore long term consequences. Even those who pride themselves as long-term thinkers actually don't act on what they know. Hence, far-sighted people are very rare in society. Thus Adobe's CC lulls people with short term benefits.

For myself, I'm not walking into the trap of LR's false assurances that it is won't become CC-only. I'm going with either Capture One or DXO.

@40daystogo. Unfortunately I didn't use DXO. I don't know why. Maybe I forgot on this software. I'm sorry I cannot help. ;-(

I did some comparison. In IQ is according to my results, Capture one far the best. I was comparing IQ output from Capture one, lightroom, Bible, NX2. I used Nikon D200 raw files. Result was soooo amazing from capture one, that I bought it immediately and never regret.
