GuyMcKie's recent activity

  • Very good lens. Designed for macro and portrait. With internal floating group for correction at both distances.
  • 16 GB is sufficient for lightroom/Photoshop basic editing. I edit 16 bit 24 megapixel raw files with multiple layers and masks without problems. 32 GB will make your system slower and is only ...
  • The latest version has a 17.3-inch UHD IPS screen, a wide-gamut matte panel covering 100% of the AdobeRGB spectrum and good deep contrast. But there is also a cheaper version with a FHD IPS panel, ...
  • I use the Asus, but with a faster 1TB hard drive. I like it. Very fast, good ips screen, good sound, good construction. And you can always use a bigger monitor as external screen.
  • Replied in Bought a pair!
Good choice. DJ and Studio monitors seems to be better than most computer speakers.
  • I use ADM-5 Reloop Active monitors. Much better dan computer speakers. With very good bass sound. But not wireless. In Europe 150€ for a pair.

It's not about taking consistently good pictures. But about having a consistent own vision on taking pictures. Adding something to the language of photography.
  • Shooting against the light and overexposure of the sky in the background. Don't expect good bokeh and a good transition to the background.
  • A 24 mb raw file became 72 mb in 8bit mode converted in uncompressed format and 144 mb in 16bit mode. The big file size has nothing to do with the program.
  • I switched to Linux Mint and run Win 7 in Vmware. Without internet access, virus and firewal protection, the performance index is 7,4.
  • Asus N751 series I7 processor 16GB 128 or 250 MB SSD + 1TB 7200rpm disk drive Dual Intel/NVidia processor 4GB video memory 17,3" IPS screen 1920x1080
  • There is no need for encrypted metadata or a non removable copyright attribute.

A raw format is the best proof that you are the owner of the picture.

And if I can see the image I can copy it. If...
