Even a speed light “pops” very audible. So far I can’t discern anything that the menu item actually attenuates. I have to say I’m am really appreciating how nearly silent the Z8 can be. People ...

I can'r figure what silent mode actually silences, aside from muting "camera sounds" ... I don't hear any difference in focus motor noise using my 24-120 for instance ... it has no effect on the ...
-
Thom, Why does the sensor shield have to drop when you go to a menu? ... I think it is dropping ... makes for quite a bit of noise ... same for time out ... silent mode does not seem to have any ...

Isn't a Z9 always in silent mode ?? Isn't this redundant? ... When I turn it on I still hear the sensor shield, aperture blades, and even the IBIS ... what else actually changes ? Silent mode on ...

24-120 is considerably larger and really extends quite a bit zooming ... partly why I have kept the 24-70 that came with my Z6ii kit ... choices are nice ... I even put the 16-50 DX on the Z8 ...
