  • No. It makes no noises at all when turned on or off.
  • Ed:  I've decided not to keep any of my Sigma bodies, so no need anymore for buying a Sigma flash. Thanks again for contacting me.
  • I will give it some thought. What's the condition? Thanks for contacting me.
  • Created wanted thread Sigma E-610 DG Super
Looking for a very good condition (8+ minimum) Sigma EF-610 DG Super Flash for Sigma cameras. I don't need the box or the manual. Must be cosmetically and operationally in very-good-to-excellent ...
  • Mike: thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the three raw settings. My setting is definitely "high," as indicated by the multiple small boxes that come up with the "high" setting. And yet, the ...
  • Created discussion thread SD1 question ...
I was processing some SD1 pics this morning using Pro 6.6 and noticed, for the first time, that the info window shows the resolution on all pics as "low," even though I'm shooting raw-only at ISO ...
  • One third? Wow ... that's a large percentage. More than I imagined. One out of every three!

  • One of the cameras I own doesn't seem to supply noise reduction where it's not wanted, and that's my Ricoh GR II. The raw files from that camera appear to be very pure to my eyes.

  • I'm of the opinion that Pentax (and other makers) has been "baking in" noise reduction in raw files for quite some time now. I first noticed this in their K-01 and later in their K-30. Canon's 5D...

  • I have mentioned time and time again in these forums and elsewhere that I would never part with my E-5 and lenses. But a family member is suddenly in some financial difficulty. I'm going to help ...
  • Than you for your post.  No, I've not worked with the Panasonic G9.  I'm quite content with the gear I have.  Nice, comfortable place to be.
  • Replied in Factory Reset?
Thanks Rick. I really don't know how many clicks. If I had to guess, I'd say 5k to 8k. I also own the GR II. It's far superior to the E-1, but the E-1's handling makes it one of the more "joyful" ...
  • Replied in Factory Reset?
Tried it.  No change.  I'm pretty sure it's the shutter gone bad.
  • My E-1 was just for fun.  My more serious efforts are handled by an E-5, a Fuji X-E2 kit and a Ricoh GR II. The E-500, if I find a good one, will also be for fun. The E-500 body isn't at all as ...
  • I owned the E-510 for a time. Very much enjoyed using that camera. The ergonomics, as I recall, were excellent. But ... the E-500, for all of its limitations ... has that marvelous Kodak sensor. I ...
  • Yes, inserted different batteries, CF cards, changed lenses, changed shooting parameters, etc., etc. Results are always the same. Thanks for the condolences. I'll probably replace it with an E-500.
  • Yes, too soon, but thanks.
  • As I said, it's this way with ALL files, JPEG or RAW ... or the camera's TIF setting.  They look like my sample when viewed on the camera's screen or when read in card reader.
  • Thanks JimB.  Mine never lets me down, either. It's simply a beautiful piece of gear.  Enjoy. And what kind of RV do you drive?  I'm considering getting a Rialta.  Are you familiar with Rialtas?
  • Created discussion thread Did my E-1 just die?
All of the pictures are like this: Was fine yesterday and all the days before that.  Mechanically, everything works as it should.  Unless someone has seen this before with their own E-1 and has a ...
