catlyn: Remember this myth: "MFT lenses are affordable. Same for FF DSLR lenses. But FF mirrorless lenses are very expensive!"
I personally got a Tamron 28-75 G2 VXD, which is very small and light, for a true f/2.8 (not an equiv. f/5.6, like here) is also cheap. And with great bokeh and very good build quality. Sure, it doesn't have OIS and it's not this light and this small. But it's not far or unbearably heavy either.
The Panasonic still should have better microcontrast, renditional depth, and spatial linear transmission. And neither lens has an actual transmission of 2.8, even my six element Zeiss 50 f2 Milvus doesnt match f and t stop
Are we skipping over the facts of the advantages of the D4/S? Still better subject tracking, much faster, much better low light, significantly better buffer...
Daviddmf: 4 comedians who say they own it & 5 who say they had it so far.
Looking forward to joining the ranks of the 4 who own it sometime.
Not concerned about reviews or armchair experts, it will be a step forward from the 16MP original OMD, mark 2,3 & X were allowed to pass so this will be a great upgrade.
I am one of the four who has said they own it. I said that as I have preordered it
FoxShutter: And how it differs from a modern phone except it’s being huge and heavy? Why it needs a focus stacking mode having X2 crop factor? At f5.6 everything is in focus anyways with wider than 50mm lens equivalent. And who shoots stacks with tele lenses? While other makers ditch APSC sensors new M43 cameras, especially at this price point and size g, don’t make sense. If weather sealing is important than APSC or FF Pentax SLR still makes more sense.
Hang on, you use film cameras...your snr and dynamic range is horrid

50 bucks says your trolling
TerryV81: Problem is that one f2.8 ff zoom replaces many f1.2 m4/3 primes. In the end I think the weight and price penalty is more on the mft side but that's just how I thought of this.
The moment m4/3 has the same noise, DR and color rendition at the same iso on ff (100 vs 100, 3200 vs 3200, etc.) I will probably chose my system differently because the only difference left will indeed be the DOF. With this generation of m4/3 sensors I still have to take noise, DR and color rendition into account.
Full frame is overrated. In many situatuons, even lowlight I prefer my m43 cameras over my flagship fx nikons. This is due to chroma patterns and the stabilization
Murat Sahan: I rarely say this but this was a dissapointment, quite underwhelming.
How?
onlyfreeman: While I think this is a positive release, I believe if they had used a more regular stacked sensor with around 44 MP (instead of quad-pixel) the camera could perhaps be even faster, as well as having more useable MP?
So I guess either this quad-pixel tech has some advantages over the traditional PDAF pixels, or Sony simply didn't have another suitable sensor?
I hope they'll be able to utilize the quad-pixel AF for some impressive performance over the other brands.
What about signal to noise ratio being negatively impacted due to the photoside diode area?
No Panasonic, Leica, or Om?
Im suprised you keep saying the em1x is large. I had used one for comparison against my d3s and the em1x looked tiny in compariosn
Hey, im looking to upgrade my d4 this would be a great replacement. Honestly though, how did people survive with 0.3mp?
To be fair, I have yet to watch the video (though am about to). I feel like in general sometimes higher res or crop sensor cameras can be overrated for lowlight high iso performance. I have used the d500 quite a few times, and own a d600. Imo, the d600 takes the d500 by 2/3 ev lowlight. I also own a nikon d4 and have used the d850 quite a few times. Same story with the latter
photo_rb: Great series and I'd love to see more with specific focus. My personal wish, what system for backpacking in the mountains, a compromise between weight, focal range and quality.
Im suprised you would call the gh5 heavy, but then again i carry a d4 and full frame 2.8 zooms everywhere i go so...

You should check out the gh5
Even though its a little older, the nikon d4 with the 80-200 2.8d and a zf.2 zeiss had always been my dream setup. I also really wanted a d5 and 300 2.8 vr, hopefully someday i can get the ladder
Zeiss 85 Milvus 1.4 zf.2
Daft Punk: I would imagine this camera is worthless and best left at home as it only has a single card slot.
The leading artists and creators of DPR have opined as such. We must listen.
So apparently the t6 is a 5dmklv? And the 6dmkll is a piece of junk?
ikan154: look at that size, battery life, and price..
Im new to the forums so i may be replying wrong but t3 how's the buffer? Its nonexistent. You cant shoot for literally two seconds without filling it
Mark Ma: So disappointing! Again, this D3500 doesn't have the aspect ratio of !6:9. Nikon is notorious for not making cameras with an aspect ratio of 16:9, a ratio that enables my photos to cover the whole screen of my TV. I have been buying Canons and Sonys just because of this lack of the feature in most Nikons. So far, only D850 and Z 7/6 have this 16:9 aspect ratio.
No it's a dslr not a tv. You want a tv buy a tv
