boni bonev: "Nikon D5 has lowest base ISO dynamic range of any current FF Nikon DSLR" , not - of any current DSLR Nikon. 5500 and 7200 have far better DR, you can check...

Yep, drag in 5500 or 7200. I think Nikon screwed the pooch,

Steve841: Intended customer, blah, blah. People buy these or are talked into buying and have no idea what they are doing. Thus they get returned.

Only a few months ago the T5 refurbs with kit lens was $200 on CANON"S site. Give this one a while and the same thing will happen. Same as with T3 and numerous canons.

No venom intended but yeah I should have left out the first sentence or rephrased. Just a bit tired of seeing 'intended customer' stuff. I guess if a co is as large as canon they can afford to build many beginner outfits only to have to heavily discount the returns later.

I don't care what canon builds and the coming refurb sale will be a boon to bargain hunters - I nearly bought one of the refurb T5s myself. But I had not too long before bought a 60D at a bargain and I'm very happy with it.

AmateurMike: I'm intrigued by the catch-in-focus. Is there any camera out there that has a similar feature, except allows choosing a focus point/area on a touchscreen?

Been around at least since 80s and SF-1. I had one of those. Think it was called trap focus back then ? Worked great.

Magic Lantern has it for some canons.

Well done and thanks for thoughts and comments. I've been a fan of pentax for many years. K-1 looks to be a desirable dslr but I can't help wishing Pentax would have gone mirrorless with same flange mount as their slr ala the new sigma.

There were hand drawings of such a camera months ago on pentax forum. Like the sigma but with flat bottom and evf on left.

Cameracist: Pentax K-01 done right? Except for the viewfinder. We left-eyed are clearly not Sigma-compatible.

Yes on K-01 done right. Months ago there were hand drawings of an updated K-01 on Pentax forum that looked almost a clone to this - except for evf position. I wished then [and still do] that Pentax would build it.

I predict massive fail. iphone users, [in general and not dpr readers], could care less about this thing. And the other faults have been pointed out in previous posts.

this is so rad in blue! jeez if they had only done it right. it desparately needs a 8 led light combo on the back to indicate in body shake reduction strength - more red for more shake. plus 3 led sequential lighting on each side to indicate left or right panning. hey a t bird should have nothing on a new cool blue dslr.
