No good until Canon stops closing off its lens mount.

Two points. (1) I don't like this whole video review thing, it's fine as an ALTERNATIVE but I don't want it REPLACING written up reviews. (2) Regardless, since Canon started becoming nasty with...

That changes nothing for me. My position remains unchanged. I dislike and disagree with manufacturers trying to lock you in, even if it is understandable that they'd prefer you to buy everything...

The problem is no one else is doing it and from the customer's perspective it's anti free choice.

"Governments love subscriptions. For example, property tax - if you don't pay it every year you lose your property. " I have to admit, you got me good there. For that reason, I'm against many...

Meanwhile Lightroom 5.7 still works if I convert the files to DNG. Subscription is not right to do for software, I think the government should even get involved and MAKE companies do it the old way.

Thanks much for the tips. One question, how does one factor in depth of field against diffraction? That is, to have everything front to back in focus if (say) you have a tree limb (say) 20 ft away ...

I have a Nikon Z50 kit (also Nikon 50mm 1.8S for portraits) and a Sony RX100 III and despite being merely a hobbyist I'm considering a full frame upgrade. I like landscapes and portraits. An ...

I use exiv2, along with a custom BAT file, to batch rename every image based on the EXIF data's time-date stamp, then add the camera model, so it looks like 20221202_173542_ooc_z50. That's what the...

I already have the Z50 with the 16-50 kit and 50mm 1.8S for portraits, have for 2 yrs, and honestly it's probably plenty for me as a hobbyist, but the Z5 kind of interests me because if you can ...

Yes I know, a lot of people seem to love Apple. I can't stand them and their "walled garden" approach to everything. I dislike anything proprietary. In like manner I notice a lot of sites now using...

The minute a company does anything that sounds like Apple, that's an immediate turn off. If that's how Canon is being, that's even more reason to buy a camera from someone else. Trying to make a...

Yes, considering that neither Sony, Nikon or Fuji (not sure about OM Solutions) have all NOT freaked out over 3rd party autofocus lenses, that to me is a far more reasonable response. I have a Z50...

I would never consider anything Canon makes after they threw a fit over Viltrox making RF mount lenses. Nikon and Sony exist, I'd buy from them instead based on the principle of it.

I like the idea of something like this, a pure photographer's camera without a freaking YouTube mode on it. I know this argument is a good 14 yrs old, but to me a serious grade of camera doesn't...

I have a Z50 kit (16-50) I'm fixing to take on a trip in about 10 days. I was fixing to buy a CPL filter for landscapes. Is its filter size really 46mm? That seems awful large for such a small ...

No EVF, ugh. Can't they make it near this size AND have an EVF? It doesn't need to be so big, it's mirrorless after all, not an SLR. Maybe have a pop up one like the Sony RX100.

Some of you may be familiar with Thom Hogan (bythom.com) who reviews camera gear (Nikon especially) and writes commentary on the photography industry. Every now and then he takes breaks but he ...

Honestly I wouldn't know how at all whatsoever to make one like I want.
