Sony_Northrup: My iphone shoots better photo than this overpriced piece of crap. Now watch the Fuji losers cry their rants on the comment section. Haha!

My Pixel XL shoots better video than your iPhone piece of cr@p.
Actually most iPhones do well, but not yours. Just as all your photos are garbage. But other people with the same cameras do much better.
:D

PhotoPhart: I've had a few APSC Sony's. I'm glad to see this "fight". I'll probably buy the Sony again but its personal preference and because I'm already vested. A friend of mine already has 2 Fuji, there is no denying their controls and handling. Why I like this comparison is because I hope Sony gets pushed into a more serious effort in their APSC line.

Nex 6, A6000,A6300, and A6500 are all part of the same series with reduced controls. None are actually weather sealed, though Sony likes to imply they are (look at the battery compartment and it is obviously lacking).

Even when the A6500 came out it was a disappointment. It was still far behind the NX1 for specs and similar to the NEX 6 (10 vs 11 FPS, etc). The A6500 did have IBIS which was a first, but it appears Sony has abandoned that in the APSC line. That is for FF only I guess.
But we are stuck at 24MP, 10(or11) FPS, nearly the same body and ergonomics as the NEX 6 7 or 8 years ago.

Fuji makes 26MP cameras that shoot 20FPS, Samsung was 28MP with 15FPS. 4K 60p and 10 bit video are not found on any Sony camera and probably won't show up on an A6xxx for a few years since FF comes first now.

Canon already expected that the camera industry will shrink much more within 2 years and they planning to switch from consumer camera to industrial camera. Yes, even Canon is having troubles with the camera industry that they have to start leaving.

One last time (to humiliate American20,lol)

Nikon is the 2nd largest ILC manufacturer. They produce/sell almost twice as many ILCs as Sony.
Canon is the largest ILC maker and sell about 4x more than Sony.

Since Canon makes their own sensors and Nikon uses Sony, even a 5 year old could figure out Nikon is Sonys #1 ILC sensor customer.
But we are dealing with American20 who is not very smart, to put it politely.

But I do like to watch him humiliating himself here.

RubberDials: I'm not sure why so many Fuji users are so concerned about Sony prioritising FF over aps-c.

If Sony had no full frame system, the A7III would be an aps-c camera and all of Sony's 50 e-mount lenses would be aps-c only and Fuji would be on it's knees or out of business.

The success of x-mount is more-or-less dependent on Sony focussing most of their energy in FF.

The Simga lenses really work so much better on M43 and the A6500 because of stabilization.

I prefer the longer reach with M43 too. Even an old Gx85 (about $400 new) will beat the A6400 in low light landscapes, churches, museums, fireworks, waterfalls, and so much more. And video is so much better because of stabilization too.

Zed Man: I've been playing with a certain software company's line of AI software and have been very impressed. ISO25600 is now very useable with APSC (and I've never needed higher than 12800). And with AI turns 24MP into more detail than I ever need.

So these two cameras and the latest M43 cameras can make high IQ stills as good or better than almost anyone needs.

Yeah, I didn't want to make this an ad.
The Topaz Labs AI suite. 30 day free trial for those interested, but it is very slow older GPUs.

It is very embarrassing when a system has to rely on adapted lenses that dont work as well and don't support stand features of a camera.

I am sure Canon loves it since they've become the top lens maker for another system.
Buy a $899 camera and $2000 worth of Canon lenses. Canon wins (or Canon and Sigma).

Fyi....
With NEX, there were 3 levels with various bodies.
NEX 5x was the super small, thin body with no VF (-some had an attachable option).
NEX 6 was the body similar to what the A6400 is today.
NEX 7 was the top of the line with Tri-nav controls.

The 5 line was dropped after the A5100, and the 7 line with superior controls was dropped many years ago.

Despite 7 years of fake rumors, the APSC NEX 7 replacement with superior controls never happened, and never will happen.

The 7 series was replaced with the A7 FF series. Kind of obvious, but dumb gullible people still fall for fake rumors. Remember last fall?

Once nice thing is, after 10 minutes you can restart your video.
I've owned 3 Sony cameras (A55, NEX 5T, and A7Rii) that overheated/shutdown in less time on hot days and were then "bricked" for more than 20 minutes.

If you want mostly video, just get a GH5/GH5s, XT3, or Z6. Those are the best video cameras these days.

Typical lying Sony fan boy.

Seriously why is it the Sony guys who lie and throw tantrums??

Sony fan boy: "
YOU SAID Nikon is #1 Sony buyer"

I obviously never said this. American20 is lying again.

I did say the are the #1 buyer of larger ILC sensors. And they are.
That made American20 cry for some reason.

Btw, Canon sells 1 out 2 ILCs sold globally, and Sony only sells about 1 in 10.

Typical dishonest Sony fan boy.
Not a single person said "at launch".
Sony fan boys always make up fake quotes when they know they are wrong.

It is sad to see Sony treating APSC as a 2nd class system though. It would be a bad idea to invest in it.

Talk about desperation.
Sure the 12-35 is better, but it is only somewhat better.
Sure it is much smaller and lighter, and optically better, etc, but the ginormous Sony is cheaper!

But then during his tantrum he says an 18mm Sony lens is as wide as a 12mm M43 lens!!! That is total desperation.

And where is that Sony 16-50mm lens again, lol!!!!

Awesome American20 just hit a new low in stupidity.
I am going to have to bookmark this!!!

My link clearly says "Nikkei published their 2018 interchangeable lens camera worldwide market share report:"

And American20 the forum idiot thought that meant Japan only!!!! It says world wide and cant figure out what that means, lol!!!!!

Next he thinks Apple makes large sensor ILCs.

Why does he keep humiliating himself like that???

Let's be clear.
F4 on APSC is worse than F2.8 on M43.
The Panasonic 12-35/2.8 is very sharp and significantly smaller than any Sony F4 zoom.
So why go with Sony junk and poor Sony video when there are better, smaller, less expensive cameras???

Lol!!!!
See how desperate Sony owners are???
Their only option is a giant FF 16-35mm G f2.8 lens without IS that costs $2300 and uses ginormous 82mm lens filters!!!
That totally Stinks for Sony owners.
Sony really doesn't care about APSC.

Lol!!!!!

The moron posts a links saying Sony was #2 in only FF sales for only a few months and in only one country?

How stupid is he????? Only a couple months and only 1 country and not including APSC÷???? Hahahaha!!!!!

The fact is Nikon sells almost twice as many ILCs as Sony, and just before Nikon and Canon released their FF mirrorless systems, but after Sony has two major releases, Sony's global market share fell to only 13.3%, while Nikons stayed at over 24%.

What is funny is Sony had fallen back to 13% where they were in 2009 when they were the fastest growing camera company!!!!
After 10 years of massive R&D and SLTs and mirrorless, Sony fell back to where they were 10 years ago, LOL!!!!

Worse, now that 3 major companies are also selling FF mirrorless their market share is falling even more (according to Sony Germany).

From the interviews and rumors, and just common sense, Sony doesn't want their APSC line to compete with FF. They dropped the APSC 7 line 7 years ago. And now the just make the 6 series.
It also appears the 6500 will be the only Sony APSC camera to have IS. They left it off the A6400 (Fuji just as bad) even though Panasonic can put in on a $400 ILC.

I have no clue what the psycho wants proof of. Lol???
That Nikon is the 2nd largest ILC camera company? How stupid is he??
Does he want proof Sony makes sensors for Nikon? Again, how stupid is he?
Or is he so stupid he thinks another company makes more ILCs with Sony sensors than Nikon???

Hey Zebito,

Where is the 16-50 F2.8 for the Sony?? There are zero F2.8 zooms for Sony APSC.

Lol, you just made yourself look pretty bad.

Sony lacks decent lenses because Sony doesn't take APSC seriously. They said it is 2nd tier now.

Fujifilm, who won this shootout, makes better APSC cameras and takes APSC seriously.

Zed Man: I agree with people below. It is hard to take Sony APSC seriously when there are no F2.8 standard zooms.
Those are often some of the first lenses made for systems.
It just shows Sony doesn't take APSC seriously.

T3,

There has been no NEX 7 replacement with tri-nav controls. None.

All recent Sony APSC cameras are low to mid-range with fewer useful controls. The very old NX1 out specs all of them.
