  • Canon astrophotography lens
  • Hi Looking forward to your results :-) I assume that there will be comparisons to the mkI, but it would be fun and informative if you also throw in a couple of Canon EF 24-105mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM's. ...
  • Hi Jerry Just because you have a lot of lenses doesn't mean you have to carry it all at any given time. Of your list I would considder only selling the 24-105 or 24-70 - depending on preferences ...
  • If buying from Amazon, then I find the .de site cheaper than the UK site - and the .de site is now also in English

Congratulations - you reached and went past a significant milestone of 10.000 posts !! And congratulations on your new lens as well of cause ;-)
  • Hmnn - more than a bit I would say. The Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM looks sharper at a fraction of the price - yes I know it is lower build quality and 5.6 at the long end, but still ... :-(
  • Hi I do not have the Canon 11-24, but do have the Sigma 12-24 EX as well as the Canon 8-15 mm fisheye. You certainly need both as the 8-15 mm lens enables much wider images, and in some cases ...
  • Shot with EOS M + EF adapter + 2.0x mkI + 400 mm f/2.8 mkI So, effective 800 mm on a 1.6x crop imager ISO 200, 1/180 sec, F9.5, 2 sec shutter delay, tripod, manual focus at 10x magnification Conver ...
  • So, are we back to the requirement of using a tube when stacking the mkIII converters? I am still on the mkI converters, and though I rarely stack them I was considering to ungrade to mkIII ...
  • Shot with EOS M + EF adapter + 1.4x mkI + 2.0x mkI + 400 mm f/2.8 mkI So, effective 1120 mm on a 1.6x crop imager ISO200, 1/20 sec, F11 (two f-stops down, registered as 800 mm f/5.6 lens by ...
  • Hi It will certainly be added soon. However, you may just chose another camera with the same imager dimensions for your gear setup, i.e. a 5D III Kjeld
  • Could also result in less vignetting
  • You may also chose not to remap into a fully or partial rectilinear mode, but only remap in one dimension, thus keeping the full hAOV without sacrificing to much resolution
  • Commented on photo Jean_Bruneau.jpg in the over/under shots challenge

Great photo - I thought for a while that you had captured a flipper, which would still be a great shot. But I realise that critical composition was not an option :-)

  • Replied in Sharp enough
Stated on the intro page :"Sharpness was set to 0 (no sharpening) and no other post processing has been applied to the images" - I suppose I should have included that in the original post
  • Replied in Sharp enough
Probably not as sharp as resent designs, but for shallow DOF portraiture, I'd say plenty sharp : http://www.acapixus.dk/photography/24_to_105_5D/85.htm
  • IMO your wide open image is sharp. Have a look also at : http://www.nnplus.de/macro/Macro100E.html Rgds/Kjeld

Well, now it is my turn to post a "dissapointed" post, though I generally do not like that I "dismissed" the Canon 11-24 for weight reasons as a replacement for my aging Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX ...
  • Created discussion thread Canon Youtube video on EOS M5
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0If-yw2AOI And a "sample" video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM2MgR1AZ_M
  • I have been holding off the SL1 or EOS100 in anticipation of a dual pixel SL2 for so long now, that I could have worn out one SL1. Surely, an EOS M5 will be added to my M setup, which means that I ...
