  • Replied in Yosemite in BW
This image is a bit more appealing to my eye.  To OP, all captures are quite nice looking.....nice to see some b/w!
  • CC makes sense (obviously) if that's the only way to achieve camera support, but I tell you I am on/off with my photography hobby and just can't see paying a monthly fee when I'm not using the ...
  • Created question thread LR 5.7 to 6 worth it?
Folks, Yes, I'm behind the times running LR 5.7.1 so bear with me.  I'm pondering an upgrade to LR 6....I know this subject has probably been beat to death but give me your summary, 'yeah or nay' ...
  • After profiling and a several test prints I ended up with monitor brightness at 85 and white point D65.  I'm using a Viewsonic 23" LED monitor.  The 'flat' test image was very useful for this ...
  • ..I did a search for prior postings on the subject and found this thread; I have (had, it's shipped) a matted print to ship to a friend. Thanks/Bill
  • Replied in Paper....
Thanks for your input; the paper you've referenced is reasonably priced at 8.5x11 size but larger 13x19 sheets are not so cheap...greater than 2X the cost of RR Arctic Polar Satin for example- but ...
  • Not yet used the NIK control points.  I did make three 5x7 prints of this image on Epson P600: 1- above image w/appropriate paper profile but NO softproof tweaks 2- above image w/printer in ...
  • Yesterday I went to my local post office in Oceanside, CA and asked the clerk about this, he said no problem using the 'flat rate' mailer and leaving it basically 'flat' while taping the unfolded ...
  • Guys, Thanks for the input. FG mentioned it's a bit 'gray', I agree so I reworked the color image ever so slightly and started over in NIK. I like the foreground shadows and left them in. Here's ...
  • ...I was joking about the tie-breaker; I will take a look w/o foreground shadows - I can see there are possibilities in that.  Simplicity. Thanks/Bill
  • So, we need the tie-breaking opinion it seems...... this b/w stuff is not so 'black and white' is it😉 Bill / Oceanside, CA www.billgosmaphotography.com
  • Ok, I'll give that idea  a shot What do you think about overall exposure?....I intentionally underexposed in NIK processing thanks/Bill
  • Created photo thread C & C's please...
3 Weeks ago at Mammoth Lakes, CA - converted to b/w with Silver Efex Pro. Thanks/Bill Upper Twin Lake - Mammoth Lakes, CA
  • I like #1 & #2...look at my minor 'recrop' of #1, subtle changes but I think makes the composition a bit stronger, maybe (?) - see what you think. #3 - so/so #4 & #5 - maybe too much dark clouds, ...
  • I like this idea of using the box but leaving it 'flat', maybe add some additional cardboard protection inside. Is it true postal service will ship at the 'flat rate'? thanks/Bill Bill / Oceanside, CA
  • I got the P600 running today, doing few prints w/test image to get monitor/print in alignment on brightness - and at 85 luminance I'm about there.  Using a 5000K lamp to light the prints. Using ...
  • I'd say yes A3 if you're printing at a tad bit under 200 dpi.  Output image size (and quality) is dependent on the selected printer resolution. 3088 / print resolution in dpi (ppi) = printed dimension
  • Howard, Thanks, this makes sense to me.  If paper selection was NOT of concern when I've set the printer to manage color (via ICC profile) then I would have expected the see the 'Media Type' menu ...
  • Created question thread ? re: P600 printer properties setup
Folks, Can someone help clarify this "Media Type" setting for me?  I'm using LR for printing to my P600 printer, I am not clear if I need to specify a "Media Type" when I have printers color ...
  • Any 'update' on your situation?  I'm all ears as I just tried installing my 1i on laptop w/WIN 7 64 bit OS; it seemed to work w/latest software but something is amiss as on recalibrating the ...
