I rented one last month and after using it for a week I ordered one and was amazed at the bird recognition AF. I have been mostly shooting Canon for birds for the last two years. I feel that in ...

I am a former M43 shooter (Panasonic G9) who tried a Canon R6 soon after it came out. I was blown away by the AF for birds. I shoot mostly birds with the occasional family pics and some travel. I ...

Nice shots. I rented an OM-1 a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with it’s ability to focus on hummingbirds in flight. By far the best camera I have used for hummingbirds. I finally ordered ...

The control ring is set in the camera menu to control aperture. As I said earlier this works for my other 5 RF lenses with no issues. Is there a setting somewhere else that I am missing?

I bought an R7 that I have had since they came out around the first week of June. I got the kit because I thought it would ship quicker and hadn’t really used the 18-150 until tonight. I mostly ...

I have the R7 and the RF 100-500. I have some issues with the rolling shutter on the R7 but otherwise it is perfect for the 100-500mm. The lens is super sharp and for birds the 800mm equivalent is ...

Thanks for sharing your experience. In using the R7 and R6 the past couple of days since the OM-1 went back I have really been missing the OM-1. At least the compactness and the AF. I am seriously ...

I just got finished with using the OM-1 and R7 side by side for a week. I rented the OM-1 from Lensrentals.com. I used it with the PL 100-400mm lens. I am primarily a bird shooter (with some ...

I am using the exact same cards and have shot a ton of video in every format with no issues. As an experiment one night last week I just put the camera on the kitchen counter and recorded 4K Fine ...

As someone who owns both bodies I think if you do a lot of wildlife you will want to go with the R7. I love the R6 but it is a little overmatched for wildlife. The R7 is great but the rolling ...

Sorry I was out of the country for a few days and didn’t check this forum. With electronic shutter there is no blackout. There is a bit of stutter in mechanical shutter. I have mostly been ...

I have never charged my R6 with anything else but the charger from my M1 MacBook Air. I use a battery grip most of the time so it’s just easier to charge in the camera.

We went in Cabo a few months ago and I took my R6 with the RF 100-500. I also took another body with a short zoom and never even turned it on. The 100-500mm was perfect.

Compared to my R6 it seems noticeably better. I can go out for several hours of bird shooting and take 1500-2000 shots (all in bursts) and not be close to needing to change batteries. I frequently ...

Here is one at ISO 3200 that I took with the same lens and body combo as the OP yesterday. SOOC JPEG.

No blackout with electronic shutter. Some with the mechanical shutter but it’s not bad.

For what it’s worth here are 3 SSOC JPEGs from my R7 with the RF 100-500mm. ISO 6400 ISO 6400 ISO 4000

I think it’s great for certain use cases like your Kingfishers and Bee Eaters. I don’t have one now. I bought an R6 well over a year ago in a package that included the f11 600mm. I wanted the ...

I have an R7 that I got a few days ago. I have shot 6-7000 images. I have an OM-1 coming July 13th (rental). I am a former M43 shooter (Panasonic G9) who bought a Canon R6 on impulse to check out ...
