I have the zs100 and intend to get the zs200. It'a a complicated camera but the zoom range got me sold vs the Sony100V's tiny range.

Hen3ry: Direct battery charge in camera? WONDERFUL -- wish I had it in my GX7. Why? NO MORE POCKETFUL OF EXTRA BATTERIES!!!

Instead, you buy one regular power pack you might buy for your phone, and even a small one like I have will charge your camera three or four times. Get a big one, and you get twice that number of charges out of it.

You can even take pictures while it is charging.

I like the power pack idea. I now have 3 batteries and 2 chargers. I rarely use the usb port to charge it but the power pack sounds good. What brand did you buy? I like the idea of taking it along while on a shoot.

I have it and take it on trips along with my Fuji XT1. The Pan. can be set to 500 or even 1000mm zoom with some settings. 500 mm is all I can handhold. I prefer to use the PAN. because of the size and I'm done with changing lenses. The EVF is small and hard to see especially with bad eyes. Better than none though. With practice, it can be very useful.

Overall, I don't like the jpgs. Raw look better. I only shoot RAW.
I may get this camera for a second camera and walk around camera. I like the specs. Is the EVF as bad as they say?

I want that bird. He/she is too funny. Looks a little like a cowboy getting ready to draw his guns with his wings at his side like that.

I can see why you didn't like this camera. Not sharp at all, no depth of field either. But at f5 and 1/30 I wouldn't expect much of a clear picture.

On article An In-depth Discussion of M + Auto-ISO for Canon SLRs (39 comments in total)

I tried the M + Auto ISO and for the most part if works well. One issue is when there is too much light and the ISO can't drop low enough. I was shooting at 1/500 and f8 and the ISO couldn't get low enough to avoid a blown out image. Realizing this I adjusted the f stop and things worked OK. The lens is a 70-300 which is nearly 500 with the Canon 60D so I use 1/500 shutter speed.
