The Sigma has their new dual HLA (linear) focus motors and it's quick according to the reviews. XD or HLA doesn't really matter at the end if both are equally quick.
-
Ah yes, I forgot about the Viltrox. And there should be a 85mm f/1.2 too.
-
From what I have seen in the reviews so far, the Sigma and Sony are extremely close in terms of sharpness, rendering, and focus speed. Both are outstanding across the frame from f/1.2, the ...

There is definitely some copy variation for this lens. I bought and returned 2x 24-70GMII . The first one was just not sharp overall. The 2nd one was better, but had the same "tilt" issue affecting ...
-
I have also seen some soft right sides on Flickr samples. I'm not sure it doesn't sell well. None of the reviews mentioned the issue, they all say it's basically the best 24-70mm 2.8 on the market ...
-
That's not what I wanted to hear as I was going to try and order the 24-70 GM2 again... I can't believe this issue hasn't been fixed, this should be a design flaw. By any chance do you remember the ...

What are the lenses used for this comparison ?
-
I have never tried the Sigma but own the Tamron G2 which is very sharp on 60MP (A7RV) across the zoom range from f/2.8. I compared it with several GM lenses at equivalent focal length and ...

I prefer the rendering of A, then C, then B. What are the lenses used for this comparison ?
-
Are you in the US ? (which state ? I'm asking because I will sell my Tamron , in case you are interested. I have lots of pictures / comparisons with my new Sony 200-600 )
-
My copy of the Tamron 150-500mm is definitely better/sharper than the 100-400mm GM I had before. At 500mm it's extremely close to the level of sharpness of the 200-600mm that I got recently (which ...

how is the tilt issue on the new one ? Can you please share a landscape picture at 70mm ?
-
I tested the 2 copies of the 24-70GMII with 2 camera bodies (A7RIII and A7RV), and saw the exact same issue. None of my other lenses is showing a drop of sharpness on the right side. I really ...
-
Seems to be the same tilt issue as the 2 copies I tried. Have you tried to focus on the right side (where it's usually blurry) ?
-
Did they return the same lens fixed, or a replacement ? and how is the centering/tilt issue now ?
-
Same, I had the issue a couple of times before the 2.x firmware. And never again since the update.
-
I didn't keep the last one, I didn't want to compromise on the quality at this price point. I didn't even run any specific sharpness tests to find this issue. I was just looking at some landscape ...
-
I tried 2x copies of this lens and both showed the same tilt issue on the right side of the image , at ~ 50-70mm. In FM some others have mentioned the same issue. Seems to be the "signature" of ...
-
Did you get a good 24-70 GM II at the end ? I tried 2 and both had some tilt issues affecting the right side of the images at > 50mm (any aperture). Also bought the 70-200 GMII that was perfect ...

It’s a very sharp picture with lots of details on the subject. But taken with a $13k lens at f/8, it’s better be ultra sharp 🙂 The 200-600mm at 600mm f/6.3 might be a different story.
